“This cause is going through a great foundation and it means a lot to a lot of families in the area,” Northeastern senior and FFA President Luke Buffenbarger said.
Buffenbarger drove a tractor to school on Monday.
The biggest fundraiser will take place at 6 p.m. Friday at Northeastern High School when powder-puff football will take the field. Each class at Northeastern will have a team, FFA adviser Jeannie Anders said.
Along with Friday night’s event, the school will host smaller fundraisers throughout the week. Students will get an opportunity to dress up in Halloween costumes on Tuesday if they donate to the cause. There will also be a pajama day and a pink day.
“All the funds stay here in Clark and Champaign County,” Anders said.

Giving back to the community is a mission for Northeastern FFA students, she said.
The money will be spent on getting women mammograms to detect breast cancer early and to women who are recovering from cancer, she said.
Students worked with survivors to put on the week, Northeastern senior and FFA Vice President Kylie Farquer said.
“Some of the people who have come to the meetings have been affected by this and have helped them overcome,” she said.
