Matthew 1:21 says “She (Mary) will give birth to a Son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus, because he will save His people from their sins.”
It if weren’t for Jesus’ birth, there would be no Christmas. It’s all about love and giving — of ourselves to help others with gifts of food, clothing, visits to the sick and elderly, being kind and giving a smile or words of encouragement and hope to those going through hard times.
It is giving thanks for family, for friends, for freedom.
Christmas is much more than Santa, shopping till you drop, maxing out credit cards and buying gifts that are sometimes not appreciated and drinking and parties. That’s missing the real meaning of Christmas.
We are to be honoring Jesus, but do we even ask Him to be a part of it? Are we too busy? Why not invite Him into your heart and have the most blessed Christmas you’ve ever had!
