Travis Light, 26, of Cincinnati, was driving the Mack truck hauling a box trailer that collided with the Reed vehicle. Light was not injured.

UPDATE @ 4:27 p.m.:

A female passenger is the fatality in the two-vehicle accident on I-75 North in Shelby County between Botkins and Anna. She was ejected when the car crossed the median, struck the tandem wheels of a northbound semitrailer and then was sent spinning, said Lt. Joseph Gebhart, Piqua Post commander, Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred right about 2 p.m.

The driver of the car has been taken to a hospital, where emergency medical workers report that person has been stabilized, Gebhart said. The driver of the semitrailer was not injured.

Both victims in the car are from Michigan.

Gebhart said the investigation is in its early stage, but neither alcohol nor speed appear to be factors in the accident. Road conditions don't appear to be a factor either, he said.

The right lane of the interstate will remain closed until further notice because of the damage to the semitrailer. The left lane has reopened to traffic.
