The Board of Clark County Commissioners will move from their offices on the fifth floor of the Clark County Municipal Courthouse to the recently renovated Springview Government Center, according to a statement from the county.

The move will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 5 and offices will open to the public on Monday, Aug. 10. The weekly commission meetings will be held in the first conference room, Room 151 beginning Aug. 12.

The commission offices have been located at the Municipal Courthouse since the mid-1980s. The move will allow the commission to consolidate its office into the same facility with other Clark County departments.

“The relocation will allow us to provide better, more efficient services to our residents and bring several departments working closely together under one roof,” Clark County Administrator Jenny Hutchinson said.

The commission’s move will allow the Public Defender’s Office and Prosecutor’s Office to split for more space. The Public Defender’s Office will move to the first floor while the Prosecutor’s Office will remain on the fourth floor.

“The move is critical in allowing us to increase public safety and provide better customer service at the courthouse, both for our residents and our employees,” Hutchinson said.

Clark County purchased Springview from the state in 2005 and has made several upgrades to the facilities over the last 15 years.
