Motorcyclist killed in Clark County crash identified

A Springfield man died after a motorcycle accident Sunday on Rebert Pike near Interstate 70 in Clark County.

Thomas Eden, 58, of Springfield, died after his motorcycle went off the side of the road and struck a guardrail, according to the Springfield post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol. Eden was thrown from the motorcycle in the accident that happened shortly after 4 p.m.

Carelfight initially was called to the scene, but first responders later requested the Clark County Coroner’s Office representative instead.

Rebert Pike was closed in the area while the investigation was conducted.

Smith was wearing a helmet, the patrol said. Working with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, the initial investigation determined that neither speed nor alcohol were factors in the crash.
