I have new respect for Sheriff Gene Kelly after seeing him in street clothes and unarmed, helping his fellow officer while shots were still being fired. So sorry for the loss of Deputy Suzanne Waughtel Hopper. God bless her and her family.
My condolences to Sheriff Gene Kelly and his department. How insensitive of your paper to print the Speak Ups and the editorial on public employee bonuses being a mistake after the sheriff's office just lost a deputy who was serving the public. They deserve an apology.
The GOP says the people have given them clear instructions. What "people" have told the GOP what the voters want? If they listen, it will be the first time.
Want the economy and jobs to improve? Eliminate the lobbyists, special-interest groups and earmarks. Give larger tax cuts for incomes under $500K. team. It's very sad and very frustrating.
