Admission is free, but free-will offerings to support the series will be accepted.
“They pay homage to the traditional music that their signature sound has evolved from and are proud of the fresh new music they have brought to the to the Celtic music scene for the past 15 years,” said Series director J. Chris Moore. “These well-crafted original compositions dominate the band’s repertoire and are delivered with a passion and energy that fuses the multiple influences each of the members brings to the table.”
Dulahan, which has recorded eight CDs of original music and features multipart vocal harmonies backed by layers of acoustic instrumentation including guitar, fiddle, banjo, mandolin, flutes, whistles and Highland Bagpipes. This results in a hybrid rooted in traditional Irish and Scottish sound but shows American Roots influences as well.
“This unique cross-pollination allows Dulahan to connect with fans of the traditional and the contemporary and draws new fans to their music wherever their music is heard,” Moore said.
Band members include Kyle Aughe: vocals, guitar, bouzouki, banjo, and harmonica; Leo Butler: vocals, whistles, flutes, and pipes; Mark Sandlin: vocals, mandolin, bouzouko, banjo, and guitar; and Greg Beasley: vocals and fiddle.
A reception and meet-and-greet session with the performers will follow the concert in the church commons.
