“We’ve always been a leader in Dodge sales and now we are thrilled to add Chrysler and Jeep to our already great inventory,” said Dan Kirk, general manager. “We have always serviced Chrysler and Jeep, so it makes since to sell those vehicles as well. Now those people who have always brought their cars here to be serviced can also buy new cars here.”
In the works for the past five months, the additions make Golling’s Arena a “Genesis” dealership, meaning it sells the three brands.
“Part of Chrysler Corp.’s plan was to have more Genesis dealerships and we are thrilled to be a part of that,” said Kirk, of the dealership that officially became licensed to sell both last week. “We will be adding some color schemes to accommodate Chrysler and Jeep. Bill Golling, the owner, is very committed to Dayton and adding the other two franchises here gives us the staying power and increases our visibility. We look forward to all the changes.”
Golling’s Arena has 56 employees, a full-line service department, a full-line collision repair and body shop, a parts department, rental department, a fleet department, a new car sales department and certified pre-owned vehicle sales department. Many employees have more than 10 years experience with the company. All members of the sales staff have been completing training courses to prepare for the new franchises.
“We have an experienced sales staff that is excited to be adding these to the inventory,” Kirk said. “We have always done a high volume of sales here. But we’ve also managed to keep a home-town feel at this dealership, which is very important to us. We know many of our customers on a first-name basis and now with the Chrysler and Jeep franchise, it gives our customers more choices and our employees more possibilities.”
“There is so much opportunity,” he said. “They are streamlining all the processes, upgrading vehicles from the interior to the exterior and making everything more fuel-efficient. And the technology from Fiat allows for more powertrains, increased fuel efficiency and much more. I think we will start seeing Fiats within a year. They are already using the Fiat technology in some of the Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep vehicles. The best technology of all the vehicles will be integrated and the result will be wonderful products.”
Golling’s Arena Dodge was established in Dayton in 2002. The Golling dealership is based in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., just outside of Detroit.
The local showroom features more than 3,000 square feet in a 50,000-square-foot building.
“We can already accommodate the two new franchises,” Kirk said. “There is plenty of room here for all of the vehicles themselves; however, we are reviewing a plan that would increase the size of the showroom by about 2,500 square feet. We would expand it out, but right now, we are just reviewing the possibilities and trying to decide if it is necessary.
“We already have great products here and I’m looking forward to having even better products,” Kirk added. “I’m excited for our customers and our employees.”
Golling’s Arena Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge is open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
