Third annual Dayton Concours d’Elegance at Carillon Park, Marmon, Morgan and Mini featured marques, presented by Miami Valley AAA. In conjunction with the concours, the Marmon Club will hold its 29th Marmon Muster in Dayton. The concours will be held Sept. 20, while the Marmon Muster will run Sept. 19-23.
The Marmon Wasp, the car that Ray Harroun drove to victory at the first Indianapolis 500 in 1911, will be displayed at the Concours. The car is on loan from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame Museum collection. It will also be shown at the Preview Party Sept. 19. Saturday evening will feature a casual Preview Party, open to the public, from 6:30 to 11 p.m. on park grounds and will offer a preview of automobiles, an automotive art pavilion, live music, food and beverages. Cost is $65 per person; reservations are required. The concours will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday and will also feature live entertainment, an automotive art pavilion, sponsor exhibits, a variety of local food and beverages and all exhibits at the park will be open.
