Permanent makeup can include eyeliner, lipliner and eyebrows. “Microblading is done with a hand tool, it looks like a little blade and the blade has a number of needles on it. You make hairlike slits after shaping the eyebrow and deposit the ink into those slits.”
After learning to microblade, Allen spread the word about her services and is offering $75 off of the $300 cost for cancer patients. But if they can’t make that, Allen doesn’t want to leave anyone out and is willing to work with them.
“My dad and brother-in-law were diagnosed with cancer in February of 2015 and my brother-in-law passed away but my dad is still fighting,” she said. “When I went with him to the cancer center, there were some people who were having a good time with the process but there were others who were sad and really sick. Then my friend was talking about getting permanent eyebrows, and found it was really expensive in the Columbus area. So I thought I’d give it a try.”

Allen has only been offering microblading services for a few months, but has already seen success with it. She said some cancer patients come in before their chemotherapy treatments so the eyebrows will be there when they start losing their hair.
“For those who don’t have cancer, for women who are battling hair loss or are sick of drawing their eyebrows on everyday, this saves time and ensures that they’re even,” Allen said. “It’s exciting to see how excited women get over it, something as little as eyebrows.”
Allen’s office is located in Glam Studio on 41 at 2435 Troy Rd and appointments can be made by calling Allen at 937-925-1579.
