The Ohio Power Siting Board has approved construction of separate, new transmission line projects in Clark County.

Information from the siting board shows American Transmission Systems Inc. will build the East Springfield-Tangy Loop to Broadview Substation project, a new 138 kilavolt transmission line connecting the existing East Springfield-Tangy line to Broadview Substation.

The project is expected to improve the quality and reliability of electric service in Clark County and expand the transmission system to meet anticipated growth in the area, according to information from the OPSB.

The state board also approved two separate transmission lines projects in Monroe County, both of which will be built by AEP Ohio.
