Chance for rain, storms to decrease throughout the day; Sunny for the rest of the week

Today starts with the possibility of showers and storms, but the rest of the week is expected to be sunny and cooler, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

As the day continues the chance for rain and thunderstorms will gradually trail off before falling away entirely in the afternoon. Clouds also will gradually decrease as the day goes on, beginning mostly cloudy but becoming mostly clear by nightfall.

Heavy rain with a chance of flooding is possible in southern Ohio and northern Kentucky.

Highs will be around the low 80s today.

It will be a mostly clear night, with overnight lows around 62 degrees.

Thursday will be sunny and warm, with highs around 82 degrees, followed by a mostly clear, cool night with lows around 58 degrees.

There is the chance for some isolated showers and storms, but overall dry conditions are expected.

Drier and less humid conditions are expected heading into the weekend.

Friday will be mostly sunny, with highs only reaching around 78 degrees.

Skies will clear as night falls, for a mostly clear night and lows around 54 degrees.

Dry weather will continue Saturday, with highs again in the upper 70s.

The chance for storms and rain return Sunday.
