- Chance of storms tonight
- Storms may bring heavy rain, gusty winds
- Weekend will be dry, less humid
A cold front will pass through the area bringing with it the chance for a few storms this evening, Storm Center 7 Meteorologist McCall Vrydaghs said. An isolated strong to severe storm with wind and localized heavy rain the main threats can’t be ruled out.
A strong thunderstorm will affect northern Clark and southern Champaign counties until midnight, according to the National Weather Service.
Overnight: As the front passes skies will begin to clear and humidity will start to fall. Decreasing clouds through the night with lows down into the middle 60s.
Saturday/Sunday: Great start to the weekend with low humidity, Vrydaghs said. Drier air works in taking dew points into a more comfortable range. Clouds will break for some sunshine. It will be breezy at times, with highs around 80. Sunday highs will be in the low 80s, with plenty of sunshine.
Monday: It will be mostly sunny and a nice start to the work week. Highs will be in the mid-80s.
Tuesday: Clouds will increase, and it will be warmer in the upper 80s. There will be a chance for pop-up shower or thunderstorm during the heat of the day.
Wednesday: Most cloudy, warm and humid. Temperatures will reach the uppers, but the heat index will make it feel like the lower 90s. Chance for scattered showers and storms.
