WSU routs NKU to advance in Horizon baseball tournament

Gabe Snyder went 4 for 5 with a pair of doubles and three RBIs, and Horizon League Freshman of the Year Ryan Weiss held Northern Kentucky to two runs through seven innings as Wright State rolled to a 12-2 victory Thursday in the conference tournament at Granderson Field in Chicago.

The second-seeded Raiders (37-19) advance to play No. 1 seed Illinois-Chicago at 1 p.m. Friday. The Flames knocked off Oakland 8-0 in Thursday’s first game.

Seth Gray added three hits and two RBIs for WSU, and Kevin Whatley blew the game open with a grand slam in the seventh to give the Raiders a 10-2 lead.
