About Wright State: The Raiders are coming off a 73-54 loss at Murray State, the defending Ohio Valley Conference champ. They shot 38 percent from the field (including 3-of-18 on 3s), allowed the Racers to shoot 54 percent and were out-rebounded, 41-25. … They've given up 73 points in their first two games after finishing last season as one of the best defensive teams in the nation. They allowed 65.9 points per game, which was first in the Horizon League and 29th out of 351 Division-I teams. They won the MAC West Division crown and advanced to the conference title game for the second time in five years. Sanford and Jackson made the all-tournament team. … They were picked to finish third in the West this year. They received five first-place votes (out of 35) in the preseason poll and were picked as overall conference champs on three ballots. Sanford was a preseason first-team All-MAC West pick. The Evansville, Ind., native has started all 102 games in his career and was a second-team all-league honoree last year.
