Wright State announces full women’s basketball slate

The Wright State women’s basketball team will begin Horizon League play in the land of cheese this season.

First up for the Raiders is a game at Milwaukee on Dec. 29. Two days later, they will play at Green Bay.

The first home game in league play will be Jan. 5 against Youngstown State. On Jan. 7, the Raiders will host Cleveland State for a 4:30 Saturday afternoon matinee.

After four straight road games, Wright State will be home for five games in a row beginning Jan. 27 against Detroit and ending Feb. 11 with UIC.

The last two games of the season will also be at home as Green Bay visits on Feb. 24 and Milwaukee comes to town two days later.

The Horizon League tournament will begin March 3 in Detroit.

Fans’ first chance to see new head coach Katrina Merriweather’s Raiders will be Oct. 30 with an exhibition against Urbana at the Nutter Center.

After opening at Tennessee Tech on Nov. 11, the first home game of the regular season is set for Nov. 14 against Grace.

The home nonconference schedule also includes games against in-state foes Kent State, Cincinnati Christian and Miami University.

In addition, the Raiders will play at Illinois out of the Big Ten on Dec. 11, and they will spend Thanksgiving weekend in Puerto Rico for the San Juan Shootout, where they are set to play Georgetown and Clemson.
