High School Football Week 5 Roundup: Miamisburg stays unbeaten; Tipp and Fairmont roll

In a Greater Western Ohio Conference showdown of unbeaten teams, visiting Miamisburg beat Troy 31-14 in high school football action on Friday.

Tate Vongsy hit Zion Lewis on a 15-yard scoring strike and tacked on a rushing score to help ‘Burg build up a 17-0 lead heading into the half. Lewis added a rushing TD in the fourth quarter to help seal the win.A

Brayden Siler threw a TD pass to Kobe Feltner and Jaydon Culp-Bishop added a rushing score in a rally effort for Troy.

Miamisburg (5-0) will host Fairmont and Troy (4-1) hosts Tippecanoe next Friday.

Springboro 35, Centerville 0: Landon Palmer threw for 266 yards and three touchdowns, two to Brandon Thomas, and Moise Armbruster ran in a pair of touchdowns to lead 'Boro. Centerville was held to 139 yards of total offense, including just 28 on the ground.

Fairmont 42, Beavercreek 0: Jesse Deglow had three TD runs, highlighted by a 74-yard scamper, to pace Fairmont. Deglow finished with 145 yards on the ground on eight carries. Braden Miller and Chris Thompson each added a TD run and Aaron Jackson hauled in a 25-yard TD pass from Miller to cap the scoring for Fairmont..

Trotwood 48, Piqua 13: Dae'Vontay Latimer piled up 150 yards on the ground with three touchdowns to lead Trotwood and Cooper Stewart added 170 yards through the air and a rushing score. Micah Karn connected with Brennan Toopes on a TD pass and Jerrell Lewis added a rushing score for Piqua.

Tippecanoe 52, Stebbins 0: Cade Beam ran in two touchdowns, Josh Burritt had 108 yards rushing on six carries with a score and Troy Taylor threw two TD passes for Tipp. Stebbins was held to 116 total yards of offense.

Butler 13, Xenia 7, OT: Ryan Martin's 11-yard TD run in overtime was the difference. Mason Motter put Butler on the board with a 30-yard scoring toss to Blake Ross. Sincere Wells tied the game for Xenia on a 9-yard scramble with five minutes to play.

Sidney 40, Fairborn 12: Caleb Harris went for 103 yards on the ground with a pair of scoring runs and Ryan Dunham and E.J. Davis each had a TD pass to pace Sidney. Garison Secrest threw touchdown passes to O.J. Person and Richard Peterson for Fairborn.

Greenville 35, West Carrollton 34, OT: Landon Eldridge's 3-yard TD run tied the game and Ethan Flanery's extra point put it away for Greenville. Jordan Ward scored on a one-yard run for West Carrollton in overtime, but the Pirates failed to convert on the two-point play afterwards.

Mason 34, Hamilton 21: Mason tallied a 20-0 run coming out of the half to put the game out of reach. Keyshawn Stephens rushed for all three of Hamilton's scores, finishing with 186 yards on the ground in a losing effort.

Lakota West 34, Oak Hills 0: Terrance Owensby and Deontai Christon each ran in a TD, Adrian Davis returned a punt 50 yards for a score and Mason Truman added a 40-yard pick-six to lead Lakota West.

Bellbrook 21, Franklin 17: Sedrick Ferguson and Justin Sloan each had touchdown runs in the second half to help Bellbrook rally. Matt Centers and Gage Johnson accounted for Franklin's two rushing scores.

Oakwood 40, Eaton 12: Tommy Lunne threw two touchdowns and caught a third, Jake Sargent had an 80-yard TD scramble and a passing TD and Jack Armstrong caught two TD passes to pace Oakwood. Dawson Blaylock connected on a TD with Zac Schmidt and Tyler Gregory had a rushing score for Eaton.

Brookville 42, Carlisle 2: Mason Stout hauled in four TD passes, two from Braden Moore, to help Brookville open conference play with a win. Jack Meyer added a TD throw and a TD run.

Tecumseh 35, Urbana 32: Gavin Wasson and David Berner each had over 100 yards rushing to help lead a Tecumseh offense that racked up 355 yards on the ground.

Bellefontaine 14, Ben Logan 6: Grant Smith's 21-yard TD throw to Bruno Pattison in the fourth quarter put the game away for Bellefontaine. Smith also hooked up with Jack Clement on a 29-yard TD. Trent Berry rushed in the lone TD for Ben Logan.

Greeneview 35, Northeastern 0: Nick Clevenger threw touchdown passes to Collin Wilson and Taylor Stinson along with scrambling for another two scores to pace Greeneview. Clevenger finished 15-of-20 with 277 yards through the air.

Mechanicsburg 41, Madison Plains 0: Aaron Conley racked up 123 yards on seven carries with two touchdowns, Joey Mascadri added a pair of TD runs and Keith Bebout hauled in four passes for 108 yards and two scores to lead 'Burg.

Mount Healthy 28, Ross 14: Michael Crawford led the way for MH, throwing a TD and rushing for 143 yards and two scores. Dylan Caldwell and Jackson Gifford scored on one-yard TD runs to cap the scoring for Ross.

Little Miami 48, Talawanda 16: Kyle Campbell hauled in a 45-yard TD pass from Tyler Teeters and Tyler Prater added a 20-yard scoring run in a losing effort for Talawanda.

Dayton Christian 41, Jefferson 0: Seth Griswold connected on TD passes to Andrew Dreier and Ethan Powell, and Powell and Griswold also added rushing scores to lead the way. Defensively DC held Jefferson to three first downs.

Meadowdale 20, Ponitz 18: Stephon Hughes carried the ball 17 times for 114 yards and Jujuan Gaddis tacked on 81 yards rushing to help Meadowdale earn a rally victory versus Ponitz.

Coldwater 35, Fort Recovery 31: Jake Hemmelgarn tossed two of his four touchdown passes in the fourth quarter to help unbeaten Coldwater rally from a 10-point deficit. Cole Frilling hauled in the game-winning score on a 30-yard pass with 1:18 to play. Derek Jutte ran in two touchdowns for Fort Recovery.

Marion Local 44, Anna 20: Anna jumped out to an early lead, but ML scored 37 unanswered points to run away. Nate Bruns tossed touchdowns to Matt Rethman and Nick Tangeman and Nolan Habodasz added two touchdown runs to lead the way. Riley Huelskamp had a pair of TD runs for Anna.
