Not even the salacious fall of Tiger Woods could bump Major League Baseball’s equally shocking steroids scandal as the story of the year.

Thanks to the enhancing digressions of Alex Rodriguez, Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz, the Associated Press tagged baseball’s ongoing battle against banned substances as the 2009 Story of the Year.

Balloting was submitted by 161 sports editors throughout the country whose newspapers are Associated Press members.
