Throwback Thursday: Video of Centerville girls 4x800 relay

The Centerville High School girls 4-x800-meter relay overcame a huge deficit to place second in the event during the first day of the Division I state track and field meet at this past June.

Senior anchor Lainey Studebaker went from fifth to second to super-charge the Elks (9:10.83). It was fitting that she unloaded that clutch surge on the Ohio State University’s Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium track, because Studebaker will join the Buckeyes’ cross country and track and field teams this fall.

Also running for Centerville were seniors Taylor Malchow and Victoria Angelopoulous and junior Laura Drew. Centerville won the event in 2015.

Beavercreek was second in the relay (9:14.48). Running for the Beavers were senior Cameron Baird, juniors Jordan Grant and Lauren Shuman and sophomore Stephanie Pierce.
