Catcher Stuart Turner had the big blow for the winners.

Facing Jimmy Herget, Turner crushed a three-run home run to left field that went over the new Dragon’s Lair patio and hit off the dark brown wall below the scoreboard.

That gave the Reds a 4-1 lead in the bottom of the sixth.

The Reds scored their first run on a Scott Schebler homer in the fourth, and they added another run in the eighth on a solo shot by Patrick Kivlehan.

The Reds and Louisville Bats played to a 1-1 tie in Louisville on Friday night.

Cincinnati is set to host the Philadelphia Phillies on Monday at 4:10 p.m. at Great American Ball Park.

The Dayton Dragons open the season at 7 p.m. Thursday against visiting Lake County.
