Scooter Gennett waived by San Francisco Giants

Lebanon native and former Red Scooter Gennett was waived Tuesday by the San Francisco Giants.

The Reds sent Gennett to the Giants at the trade deadline on July 31.

Gennett, 29, spent two-plus seasons with the Reds, hitting 27 home runs with 97 RBIs in 2017 and 23 homers and 92 RBIs last season. He hit .298 with 50 homers and 194 RBIs in 316 games with the Reds.
