HS Roundup 9/1: Northridge gets big stop to hold off WC

Northridge’s huge stop on a two-point conversion gave the Polar Bears a 28-27 win versus West Carrollton on Saturday in a game that was suspended Friday night due to weather.

West Carrollton had pulled to within a point after a touchdown score with 11 seconds to play in the fourth quarter.

Mason Hardin hooked up with Trey Scroggins on a pair of touchdown throws, Shawn Shehee tacked on two TD runs and Northridge piled up 350 yards on the ground.


Anderson 36, Hamilton 31: Hamilton’s Keyshawn Stephens set a school record for rushing yards in a game with 297 but Hamilton lost in a game that was suspended Friday with 4:12 to play in the first half.

Fort Loramie 45, Cin. Madeira 29: Collin Moore added a rushing TD to help Fort Loramie pad the lead in a game that was suspended Friday early in the third quarter.

Lakota West 20, Centerville 14: Lakota West scored 10 unanswered points to take the lead, capped off by a Kendrick Crawford three-yard score. David Afari added 82 yards rushing and Manny Pastoriza finished 19-of-26 for 120 yards through the air. The Lakota West defense also forced four turnovers. For Centerville, Bryce McMahon had a total of 108 rushing yards with two touchdowns.

Ross 42, Monroe 7: Aaron Smith turned a quick pass into a score to tack on the final touchdown for Ross in a game that was suspended with Ross leading 35-7 in the third quarter.

Troy 21, Xenia 14: Troy pulled ahead for good with Sam Jackson’s four-yard TD scamper. Jaydon Culp-Bishop added a 16-yard TD for Troy in the third quarter. Culp-Bishop finished with 90 yards rushing and Brayden Siler threw for 163 yards. Xenia’s Sincere Wells racked up 184 rushing yards and one touchdown.

Girls Volleyball

Bradford 3, Dayton Christian 0: In a losing effort, Dayton Christian had set scores of 18-25, 24-25, and 15-25. The team remains 2-1 in the Metro Buckeye Conference.

Fort Loramie 3, Versailles 2: Leading Fort Loramie was Aleah Frilling who recorded 12 digs and 10 assists. In a tight game against Versailles, Fort Loramie won with set scores of 23-25, 25-21, 22-25, 25-14 and 15-12.

Lehman Catholic Invitational: In the championship match Anna won 2-0 against Minster in sets of 16-25 and 21-25 and Bellbrook placed 3rd overall. Danielle Barnhorst led Minster with an overall of 20 kills, 25 digs and 2 aces.

West Clermont 3, Tippecanoe 1: Izzy Crow led Tippecanoe with 26 assists followed by Rachel Wildermuth with 11 kills and 3 blocks.

Boys Golf

Versailles Invitational: Due to inclement weather the final results were based on the number over par for the first 11 holes. Medalist Cole Maurer of Anna recorded -1. In a tie for second Ethan Lehmkuhl and Joseph Magato of Minster and Chase Poole of Graham scored a +3.

Cross Country

Treaty City Invitational: The top finisher for boys was Logan Warner with a 20:18 and leading for the girls was Emily Wright with a 24:18. Top three runners for Coldwater were Andrew Schoen with a 17:38, Isaac Schoen with a 17:50 and Kendrick Tebbe with a time of 20:33. Noemi Arrona for Mississinawa Valley ran a 29:22 and the top three boys for were, Shawn Wogoman with a 26 flat 5k, Mikey Rammel running a 26:59 and Jake Dirmeyer recording a 29:12.

Miamisburg Invitational: Coming in first overall from Springfield Shawnee was Audrey DeSantis with a time of 19:27 followed by Maddy Iden from Talawanda at 19:54. Leading for the winning team, Beavercreek, Emma Johnson ran a 20:17.

Girls Soccer

Graham 1, Greenville 1: The goal for Graham was by Katelyn Nash and assisted by Madeline Shearer.

Kenton Ridge 3, Coldwater 2: Leading for Coldwater was keeper Grace Bruns, with 15 saves followed by Janelle Halterman who had two goals.

Boys Soccer

Bethel 2, Tree of Life 2: To secure the tie for Bethel, Aiden Flomerfelt took a pass from Nick Schmidt with around nine minutes left in the game.

Carroll 5, Walnut Hills 0: Leading for Carroll, Conner Osterholt and Sean Dosedel made two goals each while Charlie Thompson had a goal and one assist.

Dayton Christian 5, Worthington Christian 1: Tied in the first half 1-1, four goals for DC were made by Josh Erlandson, Sam Reid and Noah Alexander to win the game.
