West Liberty University commit Corinne Thomas became the second Tecumseh girls basketball player to reach the milestone in the Arrow’s win over Bellefontaine. Ohio Ms. Basketball Bianca Quisenberry, who later starred for the Cincinnati Bearcats, joined the 2,000 point club for Tecumseh in 2013.
Centerville girls basketball coach Adam Priefer notched his 300th career victory in a 54-37 road win against Beavercreek. Cotie McMahon scored 20 points, Amy Velasco added 13 and Centerville outscored ‘Creek 12-2 in the final quarter, improving to 20-1 and securing a Greater Western Ohio Conference East title.
A pair of double-double efforts from Courtney Redd and Teri McMann helped Chaminade Julienne girls basketball coach Randy Duff, in his 16th season, record his 250th career victory in a 53-34 win over visiting Fenwick. Redd totaled 13 points with 10 rebounds and McMann added 12 points with 10 boards.
Fairmont’s Madison Bartley exploded for a school-record 38 points in an 85-51 win versus host Springfield. Bartley shot 17-of-20 from the field and hauled in nine rebounds. Trinity Morton-Nooks countered with 30 points for Springfield, reaching the 1,000 career point mark for her career.
Boys Basketball
Fairlawn 63, Newton 55: Skyler and Ashton Piper combined for 40 points to pace Fairlawn. Ryan Mollette led Newton with 19 points.
Girls Basketball
Carroll 44, Alter 39: Julia Keller scored 14 points, Elisabeth Bush and Sarah Ochs added 10 apiece and Carroll improved to 20-1 overall and 10-0 in conference play. MaKayla Blount paced Alter with 13 points.
Dunbar 52, Ponitz 39: Mone’t Allen tallied 15 points and Samaria Brown tacked on 13 for Dunbar.
Kenton Ridge 59, London 50: Mikala Morris poured in 30 points and Mariah Baker tacked on 13 for Kenton Ridge.
Lebanon 60, St. Ursula 40: Kendall Folley tallied 23 points with six steals and five assists and Lindsey Sauerland added 11 points to lead Lebanon.
Miamisburg 48, Fairborn 45: Anna Long totaled 14 points and Alex Sperry 11 to pace Miamisburg on senior night.
Northwest 63, Talawanda 52: Sophie Pohlabel put up 15 points with 13 rebounds and Kyra Koontz added 14 points with 10 rebounds in a losing effort for Talawanda.
Roger Bacon 44, Badin 42: Shelby Nusbaum paced Badin with 17 points but Roger Bacon rallied with a 13-4 run in the final quarter, taking the lead on a Kylee Shepard layup with 12 seconds to play.
Springboro 68, Northmont 45: Maddy Bakosh paced ‘Boro with 14 points and McKel Nation and Karlie Winship added 10 apiece.
Tippecanoe 46, Troy 32: Ashleigh Mader scored 16 points, Kendall Clodfelter tacked on 14 and Tippecanoe secured a Greater Western Ohio Conference North title for the third consecutive season.
Triad 55, Fairbanks 45: Cati LeVan had 20 points, Frani LeVan 18 and Makenzie Cauley hauled in 12 rebounds for Triad.
West Liberty-Salem 46, Mechanicsburg 30: Kelsey Day tallied 10 points and WLS won its 18th straight game and improved to 15-0 in conference play. Grace Forrest had 16 points for ‘Burg.
Girls Bowling
Northmont 2248, Springboro 1646: Rachel Banks had the high series of 388 and Cassidy Hunter rolled the high game of 225 to lead Northmont.
