HS Roundup 9/8: Minster cross country sweeps D-III Tiffin Invitational


Minster girls cross country finished 1st overall in the Division III varsity race and their boys finished 1st in the D-III open on Saturday at the Tiffin Carnival Invitational.

Minster’s leading lady was Emma Watcke with a time of 18:36 and their leading man was Tyler Prenger with a time of 19:47.

In D-II boys open, Tippecanoe mens cross country took home second place with their first runner, Brady Shilt running an 18:01 with teammate Trenton Brown two seconds behind him.

West Liberty-Salem girls placed third overall in the D-III varsity and had several leading runners out of 54 schools. Megan Adams came in 7th with a 19:25 5K and Grace Adams had a time of 20:43.

West Liberty-Salem boys in the D-III-A varsity were led by Dylan Lauck who came in 5th with a time of 16:32 and Noah Smith in 14th running a 16:53.

Saturday’s Results

Coldwater 2, Findlay 0: Leading for Coldwater was Annalise Harlamert with 18 assists and one solo block. Libby Sudhoff tallied three aces and Taylor Siefring recorded 13 kills. Match scores were close with 25-21 and 25-23.

Milton-Union 3, National Trail 0: Tristan Bowers led National Trail with 10 kills and nine digs. Teammates Jaidyn Tout and Angel Bowers had four kills each and Angel had nine digs as well.

Minster 3, Celina 1: Emily Stubbs of Minster recorded three aces, two kills and nine assists. Teammates Kaitlyn Wolf and Brooke Wolf had one ace each but Kaitlyn racked up 24 assists Brooke had 12 assists.

Southeastern 3, Urbana 0: Taylor Adams led Urbana with 26 assists and four aces while Mackenzie Bean tallied 12 kills and seven digs. Urbana is 3-5 and 0-2 in the Central Buckeye Conference.

Tippecanoe 3, Northwest 0: Leading Tippecanoe was Abby Hughes with four aces and 10 digs followed by Rachel Wildermuth with eight kills and five blocks. Corinn Siefring had five aces, five digs and four kills.

Hamilton 4, Fairmont 2: Within the first half two goals were made by Hannah Sawyer and one by Meghan Garry. Makayla Bradbury puts the fourth score up to win against Fairmont.

Monroe 1, Chaminade Julienne 1: Scoring for CJ was Katie Baird and for Monroe was Kylie Rupp. CJ’s record is now 3-0-2 against Monroe’s 3-1-3.

Northmont 2, Wayne 1: In the first half of the game Tatum Brookhart scored the first goal followed by Lauren Tilton for Northmont.
