HS Roundup 2/11: Mims, Huguely pace Trotwood in win versus ‘Burg

Trotwood tallied a seventh consecutive victory with an 87-70 win versus Miamisburg in boys basketball action on Tuesday.

Carter Mims and Keontae Huguely turned in 21 points apiece to lead Trotwood.

Miamisburg, paced by Colin Murphy’s 17 points, hung around early but Trotwood pulled away late.

The win bumped Trotwood to 19-2 overall and 12-0 in conference play.

Trotwood will close the regular season Friday at Northmont. Trotwood defeated Northmont 153-67 on Jan. 28, the last meeting between the teams.

Boys Basketball

Alter 63, Carroll 54: Brady Uhl led four players in double-digit scoring for Alter with 20 points. Conor Stolly added 14 and Jack Smith and Jacob Conner 11 apiece.

Anna 54, Miami East 26: Bart Bixler paced Anna with 15 points and Kamren Steward added 11.

Bellbrook 60, Preble Shawnee 56: Ryan Chew tallied 27 points, Gabe Pavlak 13 and Bellbrook took control with a 14-8 run in the second quarter. Sam Agee had 20 points for Preble Shawnee.

Butler 57, Xenia 43: Tyler Montague chipped in 18 points and Cooper Justice tacked on 10 for Butler.

Cin. Christian 83, Shroder 40: K.J. Swain posted 18 points to lead Cin. Christian, which opened the game on a 21-10 run. Logan Woods added 17 points and Devin McKinnon and Cameron Rogers 12 apiece.

Fenwick 62, Chaminade Julienne 44: A.J. Braun poured in 27 points for Fenwick. Larry Turner led CJ with 19 points.

Lebanon 64, Northmont 60: Kam O’Connor chipped in 20 points off the bench to lead Lebanon. Nick Pierett added 19 points and Blake Lamb 14 points with 11 rebounds.

McNicholas 44, Badin 41: Josh Hegemann scored seven of his 11 points in the final quarter to spur a Badin rally attempt. Zach Switzer also had 11 points in the loss for Badin.

Piqua 61, Fairborn 55: Garrett Schrubb paced Piqua with 24 points and Dre’Sean Roberts added 10. Cole Spencer and Dwight Lewis scored 11 points apiece for Fairborn.

Russia 63, Newton 41: Mason Dapore led the way with 18 points and Russia jumped out to a 31-9 lead at the half. Harold Oburn tallied 13 points for Newton.

Talawanda 55, Eaton 52: Craig James and Jonathan Richter scored 19 points apiece to pace Talawanda. Richter also grabbed 12 rebounds. Travis Pittman led Eaton with 13 points.

Urbana 53, West Liberty-Salem 48: Grant Hower spurred Urbana with 20 points and Nasir Cochran added 14. Matthew Loffing led WLS with 14 points.

Girls Basketball

Coldwater 52, Elida 46: Annelise Harlamert and Riley Rismiller each turned in double-double performances for Coldwater. Harlamert had 17 points with 12 rebounds and Rismiller 13 points with 10 boards.

Fort Loramie 80, Marion Local 28: Kenzie Hoelscher had went 5-of-7 from the floor in the first quarter to help unbeaten Fort Loramie stake a 28-4 lead. Hoelscher finished with 21 points and Dana Rose added 13.

Lehman Catholic 51, Northridge 23: Lauren McFarland led a balanced attack for Lehman Catholic with 13 points.

New Bremen 47, Botkins 35: Madison Cordonnier paced New Bremen with 14 points and Kira Bertke and Kaylee Freund added 12 apiece.

Boys Bowling

Carroll 2520, Franklin 2456: Jackson Stannard rolled a 430 series to help Carroll improve to 16-1. Casey Judy paced Franklin with a 395 series.

Miamisburg 2378, Fairmont 2246: Justin Grice bowled games of 228 and 233 and A.J. Hild had games of 213 and 211 for Miamisburg.

Girls Bowling

Carroll 2075, Franklin 1641: Madison Wiley posted a 368 series for Carroll. Bailey Mely led Franklin with a 275 series.

Fairmont 1783, Miamisburg 1704: Emmie Berger had a 391 series to lead Miamisburg.
