HS Roundup 9/23: Greenville girls win dramatic match

Greenville 190, Beavercreek 190: Greenville, now 13-1, won with 5th score of 53 from Trinity Reis. Overall, the team was led by Kenna Jenkinson ‘s 41, Riley Hunt’s 48, Jessica Mortensen’s 50, Lainey Oswalt’s 51 and Reis’ 53. It was senior night for Makenzi Glancy, Hunt, Mortensen and Oswalt and a fitting end, indeed, as Greenville avenged its only loss of the season in dramatic fashion.

Beavercreek was paced by Sarah O’Connor’s 39, Allie Barnett’ 49, Zoe Romaker’s 49, Megan Diltz’s 53 and Izzy Greet’s 54.

Boys Golf

Tippecanoe 165, Troy 179: Top scorers for the match were Tipp’s Nathan Gagnon at 38 and Matt Salmon at 41; Troy’s Henry Johnston shot a 39. Tippecanoe is now 8-0 on the season, Troy 6-2.

Boys Soccer

Bethel 6, Dayton Christian 2: Bethel was paced in victory by Aiden Flomerfelt’s 2 goals and 1 assist, Nick Schmidt’s 2 goals, Cannon Dakin’s 2 goals and 3 assists and Jane Houck’s assist. Dayton Christian got goals from Caleb McComas and Brady Woodall. Bethel is now 9-2-0.

Girls Soccer

Carroll 2, Badin 0: Cat McNamara broke a scoreless tie early in the second half, helping lift Carroll to 11-1-1 to snap Badin’s 5 game winning streak. Natalie Ryan had the shutout.

Mechanicsburg 7, Yellow Springs 0: Lilly Marsh had a hat trick, Dani Schipfer scored two goals, Brooke Moore added another as did Kasey Schipfer as Mechanicsburg overwhelmed Yellow Springs. Assists came from Chloe Jacobs and Dani Schipfer.

Girls Tennis

Mercy McAuley 3, Badin 2: Mercy McAuley found the win on the efforts of Alana Lambers and Zaria Mapp in singles action and the team of Madi Carle and Ana Villamagna in doubles play. Badin hung tough, led by Ryleigh Clemmons and the team of Sophia Mitrione and Emily Sauer.

Tecumseh 5, Stebbins 0: Tecumseh cleared Stebbins behind singles wins from Ady Beel, Erica Kelly and Kayla Wright. In doubles, Bush/Walrath and Jackson/Shampton overcame their Stebbins opponents.

Bellbrook 3, Waynesville 0: McKenna Melton and Rachel Cordonnier both had 9 kills for Bellbrook.

Greenon 3, Northwestern 1: Haley Roush had 5 aces, Katie Pry had 14 kills and 22 digs, MaKenna Young added 32 assists, 16 digs and 4 aces for Greenon.

National Trail 3, Carlisle 0: Trail was paced by Tristan Bowers’ 9 kills, 5 digs and 8 aces, Shelby Slade’s 4 kills, Jaidyn Tout’s 9 aces, Angel Bowers’ 12 assists, Brooke Johnson’s 8 assists and 11 digs and Jenna Petitt’s 11 digs.

New Knoxville 3, Jackson Center 0: Carly Fledderjohann had 29 assists, Haley Fledderjohann had 16 digs and Megan Jurosic added 9 kills.
