HS Roundup 12/21: Five score in double digits for Lakota West in win

Don’t doubt the fire of these birds.

Lakota West, now at 5-2, exploded to a 90-38 win over Middletown on Saturday. Five different Firebirds scored in double digits: Chance Gray had 18, Neveah Dean had 16, Kailyn Dudukovich had 15, Amara Flores had 14 and Leah Abribat had 10. As a team, West shot 57.6 percent from the floor and 42.9 percent from three.

Sa’Mill Calhoun had 15 for the Middies, who fell down 17-8 after the first quarter and couldn’t catch up. Keiara Gregory chipped in 11.

Girls Basketball

Waynesville 49, Carlisle 35: Waynesville knocked off previously unbeaten Carlisle by 14 on Saturday. Isabella Cassonni had 14 on 5-of-9 shooting to pace the Warriors.

Springboro 63, Springfield 44: Peyton Nation had 24 points for Springboro; Jordan Hobbs chipped in 19. Springfield’s Mickayla Perdue had 23.

Eaton 64, Franklin 52: Bailey Shepherd had 20 and Ali Mowen dropped 10 for the victorious Eagles.

Tippecanoe 60, Fairborn 40: Leading scorers for Fairborn were Natalie Oktavec (12 points), Jodee Austin (10 points), Nakiah Dunman (7 points) and Cassidy Mustard (6 points).

Yellow Springs 39, Ansonia 37: Yellow Springs needed overtime to scratch out a close win over the Tigers.

Minister 56, Russia 27: Ivy Wolf had 16, Averi Wolf added 14 as Minster ran out to a win Saturday. Russia’s Ashley Scott led her team with 8 points.

Centerville 64, Miamisburg 38: Addison Frymoyer led the scoring with 9.

Sidney 47, Troy 42: Troy’s Macie Taylor dropped 17, hitting 3 three-pointers along the way. Tia Bass had a double-double; 12 points, 13 boards.

Piqua 45, Stebbins 22: Piqua’s Tylah Yeomans scored 22 points on 8-of-9 shooting. Aubree Schrugg grabbed 9 rebounds.

Eaton 64, Franklin 52: Jordan Rogers scores 24 on 9-of-19 shooting for Franklin.

Oak Hills 55, Fairfield 54: Dy’Jhanik Armfield scored 16 and Jaylah Herzog’s double-double pushed Oak Hills. Fairfield’s Karlee Mills scored 27, hitting 3 three-pointers as Fairfield fell to Oak Hills.

Princeton 65, Hamilton 42: Sole Williams dropped 18, Kyla Oldacre scored 8 with 14 boards as Princeton pulled away in the third quarter to defeat Hamilton. Jayden Issacs had 14 for Hamilton.

Lakota East 52, Colerain 36: East’s Claire Vogelmann had 8 points and five rebounds. Colerain’s Abaigeal McNally had 13.

Beavercreek 48, Trotwood 44: Maci Rhoades led the Beavers with 14 as they snuck past Trotwood.

Carroll 53, McNicholas 35: Julia Keller’s 25 points led all scorers as Carroll ran out to a 21-8 lead after the first quarter. Megan Leraas added 10.

Boys Basketball

Miamisburg 66, Valley View 64: What a way to earn program win 1,000. The Vikings overcame the Spartans on the road by two, led by Luke Copsey’s career-high 19. The Vikings stormed back from down 10 to secure the win. Alex Ball chipped in 15 for Miamisburg, 13 of which came in the fourth quarter and overtime.

Jefferson 84, Riverview East 62: D’Shawn Ferguson had 28 points to lead the Broncos to their 3rd win of the season. Riverview East’s Reco Coleman led all scorers with 33 points.

New Knoxville 59, Temple Christian 34: The Rangers put 3 players in double figures led by Carson Bierlein with 31, Patrick Covert with 11 and Owen Carroll with 10.

Coldwater 56, Ayersville 32: Coldwater’s Tyler Schwieterman had 11 points and 13 boards. Ethan Post scored 9.

Alter 89, Mitchell FL 43: Conor Stolly had 16, Brady Uhl led all scorers with 21 and Jack Smith chipped in 17 as Alter won down in the Seahawk Classic at Hilton Head Island in South Carolina.

Minster 70, Mississinawa Valley 52: Trent Roetgerman led Minster with 17, on 7-of-10 shooting. Jacob Salazar added 11. Max Dirmeyer had 11 for Mississinawa Valley.

National Trail 46, Twin Valley South 17: Tyler Weathington had 13 for National Trail.

West-Liberty Salem 68, Fairlawn 62: Holden Nease had 29 for the Tigers, who are now 5-0.

Versailles 54, Russia 48: Michael Stammen had 33 for Versailles, while Mason Dapore led Russia with 23.

Coldwater 2892, Parkway 2208: The Cavs are now 4-0, thanks to Trent Berkenstock’s 214-202 for 416, Matt Meinerding’s 211-159 for 370 and Hayden Beougher’s 216-167 for 383.

Girls Bowling

Coldwater 2506, Parkway 1857: The Lady Cavs rolled to 4-0, led by strong outings from Rachel Miller, 169-218 for 387 and Ryleigh Brown, 172-154 for 326.
