HS Roundup 4/9: Fairfield baseball defeats Lakota West

The Fairfield baseball team defeated Lakota West in shutout fashion on Monday.

Fairfield won 4-0. J.D. Scranton tossed a complete game shutout with five strikeouts on the mound.

At the plate Tyler Caudill and Deshaun Vample each had a pair of hits to power Fairfield.


Hamilton 2, Oak Hills 1: Kurtis Reid tripled and homered, driving in both runs for Hamilton. Zach Bell picked up the win on the mound, throwing a complete game with six strikeouts.

Fenwick 15, Purcell Marian 0: Cross Youtsler notched the win and Jake Schaefer had three hits for Fenwick in the first game of a doubleheader.

Fenwick 7, Purcell Marian 1: Matt Fink launched a two-run home run and Alec Bush recorded three hits to lead Fenwick.

Greeneview 1, Southeastern 0: Mitchell Hines struck out five in a complete game no-hitter for Greeneview. Jack Nix brought in Taylor Stinson in the bottom of the sixth for the lone run.

Anna 13, New Knoxville 0: Carter Elliott hit two doubles and scored three runs and Aidan Endsley had a double with two RBI to pace Anna.

Jay County 5, Coldwater 4: Jacob Hartings hit a game-tying RBI double to send the game into extra innings but ultimately Jay County came out on top.

New Bremen 8, Lima Shawnee 3: New Bremen pushed across five runs in the third inning on the way to the win.

St. Henry 3, St. Marys 0: Marc Siefring tossed a complete game two-hit shutout and Ryan Luttmer scored and hit a sacrifice fly for St. Henry.


Miamisburg 7, Wayne 4: Tori Faulkner, Mackenzie Frantz and Abbey Haas all had three hits to lead ‘Burg in the win.

Fenwick 14, Purcell Marian 0: Rachel Berling struck out nine and allowed one hit over five innings for Fenwick. Annabelle Thomas went 3-for-4 with one RBI and four runs scored and Samantha Bany added an RBI with two runs scored.

Badin 9, Chaminade Julienne 1: Maddie Curtner and Nicole Rawlings each homered, with Curtner also driving in two and Rawlings picking up the win on the mound for Badin.

Madison 17, Dixie 7: McKinlee Ruppert had a 3-for-3 night with a home run and three RBI in a losing effort for Dixie.

Monroe 11, Franklin 6: Faith Hensley and Makenzi Moore each homered to lead Monroe.

Ben Logan 9, Celina 1: Grace Dearduff earned the win to improve to 3-0 and Olivia Roose and Jaz McKeen each had two hits and one RBI for Ben Logan.

Mississinawa Valley 5, Union City 2: Taydem Elson and Bailey Emrick each drove in a pair of runs to pace Mississinawa.

Houston 6, Fort Loramie 0: Sarah and Jess Monnier each had two-run home runs to power Houston.

Wapakoneta 4, Coldwater 3: Madissen Geeslin hit a solo home run but Coldwater fell to a late Wapak rally.

Boys Tennis

Tecumseh 4, Sidney 1: Mitchell Foland and Drew Sarihan tallied singles wins for Tecumseh. Akavish Mani had the lone victory for Sidney.

Fenwick 4, New Richmond 1: Dylan Sagan and Tim Erhart both finished with singles wins and Fenwick swept the doubles matches.

Valley View 3, Preble Shawnee 2: Ian Bennett recorded a singles win and Valley View swept the doubles matches. Pierce Elliott and Luke Feck picked up singles wins for Preble.

Valley View 4, Yellow Springs 1: Lane Powell and Dawson Hamm each notched a singles win for Valley View. Forrest Lowe won in first singles for Yellow Springs.

Waynesville 4, Dayton Christian 1: Ben Muth and James Schneider both won in straight sets for Waynesville.

Miami Valley 5, Eaton 0: Colton Morehart and Nathan Howell each had straight set victories to help Miami Valley improve to 5-0.

Boys Volleyball

Fairmont 3, Oak Hills 1: Nash Infanto 31 tallied assists, Jake Hosford 17 kills, Nick Spangler 18 digs, Miles Kelley five aces and Jacob Profitt three blocks for Fairmont.

Princeton 3, Edgewood 0: Jordan Pater tallied four aces and David Stolz added three kills in a losing effort for Edgewood.

Track & Field

Northeastern Invitational: The West Liberty-Salem boys finished with 116 points for first place. Fairbanks was second at 111 and Northeastern third with 96. Noah Smith and Ethan Cole led the way with wins in three events each.
