HS Roundup 4/29: Fairborn baseball beats Xenia

Fairborn defeated Xenia 6-2 in baseball action on Monday.

Andrew Trickett earned the win, scattering eight hits and striking out four in his sixth complete game of the season.

Nate Fasnacht finished 3-for-4 at the plate and scored the first run of the game for Fairborn.

Baseball

Anna 6, Houston 2: Cole Maurer struck out eight over six innings to pick up the win, Carter Elliott drew four walks and scored twice and Tyler McClay plated three runs to lead Anna.

Arcanum 17, Covington 0: Lane Byrne blasted a grand slam, finishing with three hits and six RBI to pace Arcanum. Evan Atchley, Logan Stastny and Cory Ross added three hits apiece.

Ben Logan 7, Urbana 6: Cole Jones singled in the winning run and Ben Logan won in walk-off fashion. Trey Allen tallied three hits, Trace Tevis had three stolen bases and Kade Arn picked up the win in relief. Gabe Spiers was 4-for-4 at the plate to lead Urbana.

Centerville 7, Beavercreek 1: Centerville ace Nick Hoffman tossed a complete game two-hitter with 11 strikeouts and Ryan Stahl recorded three hits with three RBI.

Coldwater 5, St. Marys 2: Will Broering doubled in the winning run in the top of the eighth inning for Coldwater along with picking up the win in relief.

Fairfield 5, Princeton 4: Princeton scored three runs in the top of the seventh to tie the game up but Fairfield answered in the bottom of the frame to win in walk-off fashion. Ricky Berrios, Colin Singer and Cameron Tenhundfeld each had two hits with one RBI for Fairfield.

Kenton Ridge 6, Tecumseh 0: Kenton Ridge held Tecumseh to three singles. Caden Riley had a hit and threw two scoreless innings in relief to pace Tecumseh.

New Bremen 10, Mississinawa Valley : Mitchell Hays finished 2-for-2 with a home run and four RBI and Justin Tenkman drove in two runs to lead New Bremen.

Northeastern 6, West Liberty-Salem 4: Northeastern plated five runs in the fifth inning to rally from a 3-0 deficit. Trevor Woodruff tallied three hits with two runs scored to lead WLS.

Northwestern 4, Indian Lake 3: Indian Lake plated a run in the bottom of the seventh but the rally effort fell short. Dane Sowards drove in a pair of runs and Ben Van Noord tallied three hits for Northwestern. Clay Jacobs and Jacob Zarnosky had two hits apiece for Indian Lake.

Springboro 9, Lebanon 0: Josh Collins and Jake D’Amico drove in two runs apiece, Logan Zier went 3-for-3 and Austin Fawley threw a complete game three-hit shutout to lead ‘Boro.

Tri-County North 14, Miami East 2: Tyler Cross and Chayse Eby swatted two doubles apiece, with Cross driving in three runs and Eby plating two and scoring three to lead TCN.

Wapakoneta 2, St. Henry 1: Ryan Carrico singled in the eventual winning run in the fifth inning for Wapak. Rylee Deitsch, Marc Siefring and Tyler Dehan had a hit each for St. Henry.

Softball

Badin 14, Purcell Marian 0: Emma Kent and Caitlyn Smith each doubled and drove in three runs for Badin, with Kent throwing a no-hit shutout with eight strikeouts in the first game of a Monday doubleheader.

Badin 13, Purcell Marian 0: Kortney Cummins went 3-for-3 with a double and threr RBI and Sydney Feenstra struck out nine in five innings of no-hit shutout ball for Badin.

Ben Logan 16, Urbana 0: Grace Deardurff was dominant in a two-hit shutout, striking out 11 to lead Ben Logan. Olivia Roose added a two-run homer to finish with four RBI and LeAnn Regula and Kiersten Maxwell had two hits and two RBI apiece.

Coldwater 7, St. Marys 1: Molly Stienke broke a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the fifth with a two-run double for Coldwater, which scored four runs in the frame to pull ahead for good.

Fenwick 16, Carroll 2: Abby Gustely blasted a home run, finishing with three RBI and three runs scored to lead Fenwick. Rachel Berling added three hits with two runs scored and Leah Hemmingsen had one RBI and one run scored.

Madison 11, National Trail 3: Madison won in rally fashion, scoring six runs in the sixth inning to put the game away. Bobbi Grimes and Savanna Abner each had a double for National Trail.

Mechanicsburg 5, Triad 0: Francys King recorded nine strikeouts in a complete game shutout and Hanna DeLong knocked out a home run for ‘Burg. Joni Russell struck out 13 in a losing effort for Triad.

Miamisburg 5, Northmont 4: Grayce Dyer hit a walk-off single for ‘Burg in the bottom of the seventh inning. Amariah Hoerner struck out 12 to pick up the win in the circle.

Monroe 15, Oakwood 0: Alyssa Wagner ran her record to 13-1, striking out 14 in a complete game no-hit shutout. Erin Dyke added three hits with a double and Sam Ross and Wagner had two hits apiece for Monroe.

West Liberty-Salem 8, Northeastern 3: Aubrey Williams and Kelsey Day each had three hits with one RBI and Hallie Strapp added two hits with two RBI for WLS. Emma Wiseman finished 3-for-4 with a run scored and Mackenzie Grimm doubled and drove in two to lead Northeastern.

Boys Tennis

Fairborn 4, Stebbins 1: Janiel Buita and Sam Steck picked up singles victories for Fairborn. Joseph Song won in first singles for Stebbins.

Miamisburg 3, Lebanon 2: Jonathan Bierley took the third singles match and ‘Burg swept the doubles matches to pick up the win.

Monroe 3, Ross 2: Weston Triplett won in second singles and Monroe swept the doubles matches. Zac Duggins and Logan Iams each had a singles win for Ross.

Tecumseh 4, Butler 1: Jacob Lewis and Parker Randenburg nabbed singles wins and Tecumseh swept the doubles matches. Mikael Waale won in third singles for Butler.
