HS Roundup 4/30: O’Connor homers in Lebanon baseball win

Kody O’Connor blasted a two-run home run to help lead Lebanon baseball in a 15-5 win versus Springboro on Tuesday.

O’Connor finished with four hits in as many at-bats, Luke Arnold was 3-for-3 and Bo Wilson tallied the win on the mound.

Ben Barber and Adam Berry each went 2-for-3 for ‘Boro.

Baseball

Ben Logan 4, Kenton Ridge 0: Ben Logan starter Blake Peterson punched out nine in a one-hit shutout to snap a nine-game win streak from Kenton Ridge.

Brookville 11, Anna 1: Jack Meyers tallied three hits with a double, three runs scored and three RBI to lead the way for Brookville and Braden Moore added a triple with four RBI. Jarred Seigle went 2-for-3 for Anna.

Coldwater 5, Marion Local 1: Jacob Wenning put Coldwater on the board with a sac-fly in the first inning and Wenning also struck out eight to earn the win on the mound.

Fairborn 6, Xenia 5: Hunter Warner and Mark Peterangelo finished with multiple hits for Xenia, which scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh in a walk-off win that earned a share of the GWOC South title. Warner also picked up the win in relief, throwing four innings. Alex Sparks singled in a pair of runs for Xenia.

Franklin 6, Dayton Christian 0: Franklin held Dayton Christian to four hits in the shutout victory. Andrew Dreier hit a double to pace DC.

National Trail 5, Tri-County North 4: National Trail jumped out to an early 3-0 lead and TCN’s rally effort fell short. Phillip Lockwood went 2-for-3 with a double in a losing effort.

New Bremen 5, Fort Recovery 0: Spencer Alig scattered five hits over seven innings in shutout fashion to pick up the win. Patrick Wells led the way at the plate going 3-for-3 with one RBI and one run scored.

Northeastern 3, Triad 2: Mac Davis went the distance on the mound and drove in the game-winning run in the ninth inning for Northeastern.

Springfield Shawnee 9, Indian Lake 3: Patrick Fultz collected three hits and four RBI to pace Shawnee. Bryce Cox and Rudy Scanlon added two hits apiece and Luke Myers struck out ten over five innings.

St. Henry 6, Minster 1: Rylee Deitsch had a run-scoring double and Ethan Thieman and Jay Knapke added run-scoring singles for St. Henry.

Tecumseh 9, Urbana 0: Alec Hall tossed a complete game one-hitter with seven strikeouts to lead the way for Tecumseh and Davey Berner, Blais Hale and Nick Cassell each hit a double.

Softball

Chaminade Julienne 5, Alter 3: Carly Fugett collected three hits at the plate and struck out 12 in the circle to lead CJ.

Dayton Christian 22, Meadowdale 2: Deanna Young swatted a home run, finishing with five RBI to lead DC. Gracie Taylor also tallied five RBI and Caroline Moyer struck out seven in the circle.

Eaton 10, Arcanum 4: Emily Dungan and Lexi Miller each knocked out a home run, with Miller finishing 2-for-4 with three RBI and Dungan 3-for-5.

Fairbanks 11, West Liberty-Salem 7: Anna Higbee finished 4-for-5 with a double and two RBI and Allson Kise doubled and drove in two for Fairbanks. Maddie Estes went 3-for-3 with a double and two runs scored to lead WLS.

Marion Local 11, Coldwater 9: Emily Nietfeld put Marion Local on the board with a solo home run and tacked on a two-run shot later. Audrey Ziegler had two homers to pace Coldwater.

Mechanicsburg 5, West Jefferson 0: Francys King scattered six hits over seven innings with seven strikeouts for ‘Burg. Audrey Ayars added two triples with two RBI and Megan Alspaugh went 2-for-4.

Triad 2, Northeastern 1: Triad broke a scoreless tie with two runs in the top of the seventh inning, holding off a Northeastern rally in the bottom of the frame for the win.

Versailles 11, Fort Loramie 7: Abby Stammen tallied two hits, including a double, with two RBI and Faith Huddle and Caitlyn Luthman also drove in a pair of runs to lead Versailles. Macy Imwalle was 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI for Fort Loramie.

Boys Tennis

Miamisburg 3, Northmont 2: The doubles duo of Vance Willis and Matthew Wells secured the win for Miamisburg with a three-set victory.

Middletown 4, Valley View 1: Deniz Misirlioglu and Michael Langendorf led Middletown with singles wins.

Northwestern 5, Tecumseh 0: Reilly Smith, Corbin Fuschino and Luke Macy swept the singles matches for Northwestern.

Boys Volleyball

Alter 3, Chaminade Julienne 0: Riley Mason recorded 19 assists with two aces and seven digs to lead Alter. Collin Kepple added five kills with eight aces and 10 digs and Aidan Tyra and Luke Wilson had seven kills apiece. Eric Miller finished with 15 digs and Andrew Barnes 12 kills for CJ.

Fenwick 3, Carroll 1: Fenwick took the final two sets to pull out the win. John Bruns tallied 21 kills with 16 digs and Tyler Goecke 17 assists in a losing effort for Carroll.
