HS Roundup 12/27: Carroll, Madison boys pick up wins in Tennessee

The Carroll and Madison boys basketball teams each nabbed a victory on Thursday at the King of the Smokies Tournament in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.

Carroll defeated Upperman (TN) 53-46. Matt Cogan led the way with 17 points, Austin Schafer added 11 and Jaden Dahm 10.

Madison, paced by Matt Gomia and Mason Whiteman with 12 points apiece, knocked off Grainger (TN) 67-47.

Boys Basketball

Alter 65, Laurens (SC) 46: Brady Uhl led Alter with 22 points, Jack Smith tacked on 11 and Conor Stolly 10 at the Clover High School Holiday Tournament in South Carolina.

Emmanuel Christian 61, Greenon 49: Casey Swank scored 17 points, Jason Channels added 14 and Adonis Davis 12 for Emmanuel. Cade Rice paced Greenon with 13 points.

Miami Trace 56, Greeneview 48: Cole Allen led Greeneview with 21 points in a losing effort.

Piqua 64, Lehman Catholic 41: Qurri Tucker tallied 21 points and Zack Tillman tacked on 14 to pace Piqua at the WPTW Holiday Classic. Bryce Kennedy led Lehman Catholic with 11 points.

Troy Christian 37, Bethel 35: Isaac Gray and Brady Clawson each tallied 10 points to help Troy Christian fend off a Bethel rally at the WPTW Holiday Classic. Kendall James paced Bethel with 20 points.

Girls Basketball

Anna 35, Versailles 34: Ella Doseck and Lauren Barhorst scored 10 points apiece to help Anna hand Versailles a second straight loss. Elizabeth Ording led Versailles with 14 points.

Arcanum 70, Tri-County North 29: Hailey Unger led four Arcanum players in double-digit scoring with 16 points and Taylor Gray recorded her seventh double-double of the season.

Bradford 59, National Trail 54: Skipp and Austy Miller scored 18 points apiece to lead Bradford. Skylar Ward tallied 13 points for National Trail.

Franklin Monroe 51, Miami East 33: Corina Conley finished with 22 points to lead Franklin Monroe. Morgan Haney had 13 points for Miami East.

Marion Local 41, Coldwater 28: Kate Leichty scored 12 points and Lauren Gilliland hauled in 11 rebounds for Coldwater.

New Bremen 31, Jackson Center 18: New Bremen was called the winner after a power outage prevented play in the second half.

Northwest 62, Hamilton 51: CiCi Riggins recorded 25 points in a losing effort for Hamilton.

Springfield 66, Fairborn 58: Mickayla Perdue poured in 37 points with five steals and Trinity Morton-Nooks added 16 points with 13 rebounds to spur Springfield. Evelyn Oktavec finished with 22 points for Fairborn.

St. Marys 36, Bellefontaine 32: Kendall Dieringer scored 10 points for St. Marys. Audrey Stolly led Bellefontaine with 13 points.

Tri-Village 80, Ansonia 27: Meghan Downing totaled 21 points and Maddie Downing 20 to pace Tri-Village. Trinity Henderson had 10 points for Ansonia.

Valley View 61, Carlisle 32: Chloe Smith and Aubrey Stupp each scored 12 points to lead Valley View.

Waynesville 74, East Clinton 25: Kenzie Purkey put up 18 points, Carli Brown 16 and Rachel Murray 14 for Waynesville in the blowout victory.
