HS Roundup 4/25: Carroll beats state-ranked Badin

Carroll knocked off state-ranked Badin 6-2 in prep baseball action on Wednesday.

Zach Westergerdes and Jake Maurer had two hits and two RBI apiece to lead Carroll on offense.

On the mound Trent Randall picked up the victory and Martin O’Grady nailed down the save.

Baseball

Lebanon 1, Northmont 0: Noah Frankenberg and Trevor Richmond combined on a three hit shutout and Kody O’Connor plated the lone run to lead Lebanon.

Kenton Ridge 6, Springboro 3: Drew Wichael tallied four hits, Zach Schneider drove in two runs and Chris Kyle notched the victory on the mound for Kenton Ridge. Cameron Roundtree had a double for ‘Boro.

Urbana 6, Ben Logan 5: Ben Logan rallied from a four run deficit but Urbana scored on an error for the walk-off win.

Northeastern 10, Mechanicsburg 0: Dylan Hand struck out eight to pick up the win. Connor Obee backed him with a double, triple and two RBI, Jake Nichols added a double and a triple and Gavin Yearout drove in a pair of runs.

Southeastern 1, West Liberty-Salem 0: Southeastern scored the lone run in the eleventh inning after a sacrifice bunt and a throwing error.

Tri-Village 16, Covington 9: Jared Buckley went 5-for-5 with seven stolen bases and five runs scored, Trey Frech added three RBI and Dylan Finkbine scored twice and drove in two for Tri-Village.

Fort Loramie 6, Anna 5: Dylan Albers delivered the game-winning hit with the bases loaded as Fort Loramie rallied to take a game that was suspended on Tuesday due to darkness.

Softball

Badin 11, Carroll 1: Nicole Rawlings notched the victory on the mound and went 3-for-4 with two RBI at the plate in the first game of a doubleheader.

Badin 15, Carroll 2: Emma Kent picked up the win to improve to 6-0 and Maddie Curtner doubled and drove in three to help Badin pull off the doubleheader sweep.

Monroe 7, Bellbrook 0: Faith Hensley homered, doubled and drove in three to pace Monroe. Alyssa Wagner struck out 11 picked up the win on the mound to move to 10-1.

Ben Logan 21, Urbana 11: LeAnn Regula drove in five runs, Grace Deardurff tallied the victory on the mound and Kinzie Jones had a pair of doubles and three RBI for Ben Logan.

West Liberty-Salem 11, Southeastern 1: Dierdre McGill drove and four runs off of two hits, Kelsey Day picked up the win on the mound and Mady Stratton drove in two runs to lead WLS.

Tennis

Preble Shawnee 5, Monroe 0: Pierce Elliott, Luke Feck and Allison Zornes each won in straight sets to pace Preble Shawnee.

Ross 3, Middletown 2: Eli Singleton tallied a singles win and Ross swept the doubles matches. Sean Ramsey and Deniz Misirlioglu won in first and second singles for Middletown.

Tecumseh 5, Greeneview 0: Jacob Lewis, Parker Randenburg and Scott Sinkhorn each tallied a singles win for Tecumseh.

Northeastern 3, Greenon 2: Northeastern took a singles match and swept the doubles matches to move to 7-0.

Miami Valley 4, Bellbrook 1: Colton Morehart and Niyanth Reddy won singles matches for Miami Valley. Zach Schultz had the lone victory for Bellbrook.
