HS Roundup 12/12: Beavercreek, Miami East square off in wrestling

In a meet featuring two highly ranked area wrestling teams, Beavercreek came away with a 49-19 win on Thursday.

Beavercreek, the No. 2 ranked area Division II program, was led by wins from Logan Besecker, Lincoln Kuba, Hayden Randolph, Garrett Golden, Jordan Dillon, Gavin Bell, Tyler Hicks and Justin Knipper.

Cooper Shore, Max Shore, David Davis and Daniel Davis all had wins for Miami East, the top-ranked Division III team in the area.

Girls Basketball

Botkins 54, Waynesfield 24: Aleah Johnson scored 16 points and Makenna Maurer 14 to help Botkins improve to 4-1.

Bradford 60, Bethel 38: Austy Miller poured in 28 points and Remi Harleman added 12 to help Bradford move to 4-1. Liv Reittinger and Nat Moorman each had 10 points for Bethel.

Carlisle 48, Madison 40: Kaylee Lawson bucketed 15 points to help Carlisle improve to 5-0. Kenzie Saunders scored 19 points in a losing effort for Madison.

Catholic Central 54, Madison Plains 33: Catholic Central improved to 6-1 with a sixth straight win. Abbigail Peterson led the way with 16 points and Mallory Mullen added 14.

Coldwater 37, St. Henry 22: Lauren Gilliland recorded 14 points with 13 rebounds and Paige Siefring tacked on 10 points for Coldwater.

Franklin Monroe 72, Ansonia 34: Corina Conley put up 19 points, Chloe McGlinch added 13, Belle Cable 12 and Chloe Peters 11 for FM. Ansonia was led by Rylie Marker with 12 points.

Lehman Catholic 48, Riverside 23: Hope Anthony totaled 12 points, Anna Cianciolo 11 and Rylie McIver 10 for Lehman Catholic.

Marion Local 48, Versailles 45, OT: Heidi Rethman put up 14 points and Brooke Homan added 13 for unbeaten Marion Local. Lindsey Winner had 14 points for Versailles.

Mechanicsburg 47, Fairbanks 33: Kasey and Dani Schipfer combined for 26 points and Grace Forrest added 12 to lead ‘Burg.

Miami East 48, Twin Valley South 22: Camryn Miller scored 13 points for Miami East, which opened the game on an 18-0 run.

Monroe 36, Harrison 35: Paige Frazier drained five three-point baskets on the way to 17 points to pace Monroe.

Newton 35, Dixie 25: Madalynn Hughes chipped in 11 points, including going 6-for-8 from the foul line in the fourth quarter, to help Newton win in rally fashion.

Tri-Village 98, Mississinawa Valley 18: Four players scored in double-digits for Tri-Village, led by Morgan Hunt with 26 points. Maddie Downing added 18, Meghan Downing 16 and Rylee Sagester 14.

Triad 43, Northeastern 35: Cati LeVan paced Triad with 18 points. Amy Stewart scored 17 for Northeastern.

Trotwood 74, Col. Eastmoor 45: Trotwood got out to a quick start, entering the half with a 24 point lead.

West Liberty-Salem 43, West Jefferson 34: Selena Weaver had 17 points and Grace Estes 10 to help WLS improve to 4-0 in conference play.

Boys Bowling

Mechanicsburg 2700, Fairbanks 2275: Eli Mayberry led the way for ‘Burg with a 503 series, Peyton Leeson rolled a 437 and Jack Wolf 451.

Northmont 2331, Butler 2276: Josh Hanssen tallied a 413 series, Logan Rolfes a 410 and Nick Satterthwaite added a 211 game for Northmont.

Girls Bowling

Mechanicsburg 2370, Fairbanks 1732: Samantha Hoover had games of 218 and 165 and Kennedy Moore added games of 185 and 186 to pace ‘Burg.

Northmont 1992, Butler 1846: Hailey Yingst scored a 371 series, Megan Schaurer added a 343 and Northmont improved to 4-0.

Wrestling

Butler 45, Mechanicsburg 31: Noah Moreland, Parker Lee, Logan Hoskins, Matt Verdes, Matt Horner, Deaglen Pyle, Jestin Love and Tyler Yones each had wins for Butler.
