HS Roundup 9/12: Badin tennis makes a comeback against Fairfield

After loosing two games of singles Fairfield tennis was looking to win the overall match, but Badin ladies made a comeback and won 3-2.

In singles Amaya Turner won 6-0, 6-2 for Fairfield and Jessica Reese defeated her opponent 7-6, 7-6, 6-2.

Carly Fields began the winning streak Badin needed her singles match when she won 6-0, 6-1.

Badin won both sets of doubles with teams of Emily Sauer, Sopia Mitrione and Ashley Suttner, Allison Hammerle.

Boys Soccer

Northwestern 5, Graham 2: Dalton McGill and Christian Kaffenbarger both made two goals for Northwestern and Alex Bainbridge scored one. Northwestern is now 4-1-1 and Graham is 4-2-0.

Girls Soccer

Chaminade Julienne 1, McNicholas 0: Katie Baird shot the score for CJ and was assisted by Beatrice Hawthorn. CJ is now 4-0-2.

Graham 2, Mechanicsburg 0: Mechanicsburg keeper Sydney Walding made three saves during the game. Mechanicsburg is now 2-4.

Boys Golf

Centerville 301, Bellefontaine 365, Ben Logan 371: Centerville’s Eric Cherubin shot a 70 and earned medalist honors. Leading for Ben Logan was Ethan Ricketts and Garrett Allen who shot a 90.

Fairfield 164, Lakota East 171: Adam Leugers of Fairfield earned medalist honors with one-over-par 37 followed by Chris Poppe of Lakota East who shot a 39.

Preble Shawnee 221, Northridge 274: Low scores for Preble Shawnee were Caleb Barnett shooting a 49, Luke Woodard with a 50 and Levi Brock scoring a 60.

Troy 154, Piqua 192: Holden Scribner recorded a 32 and led for Troy followed by Ryan Dowling with a 39 and Zach Collin shooting a 41.

Talawanda 172, Ross 182: Earning medalist honors was Logan Hollander of Ross with a 41. Talawanda is now 10-0 and 8-0 in the Southwest Ohio Conference.

Twin Valley South 227, Bradford 250: Leading with a shot of 51 was Willie Bowman from TVS followed in a tie for second by teammates Steve Bitner and Keaton Mead who both shot a 54.

Girls Golf

Ben Logan 165, Bellefontaine 181: Leading for Ben Logan and earning medalist honors was Mailiis Simovart shooting one under par for a 34. Bellefontaine’s leader was Samantha McLaughlin who shot a 39.

Centerville 147, Ursuline 158: Marissa Wenzler earned first overall with a score of 34 followed by teammate Kayla Ramsey who tallied a 37. Leading for Ursuline was Rachelle Soh and Julia Breckenridge who both recorded a 38.

Fairbanks 218, Mechanicsburg 244: Earning medalist honors for Fairbanks was Allison Kise with a score of 52 followed by Veronique Grand recording a 53. Leading for Mechanicsburg was Dodie Howell and Francis King both with a 58.

Miami East 201, Tippecanoe 203: Leading for Miami East was Paige Lawson who tallied a 45 followed by Marissa Kearns with a 49.

Girls Tennis

Middletown 4, Northwest 1: Winning for Northwest was Ashley Snyder with set scores of 6-0, 6-3. Leading for Middletown in singles was Arianna Layne with scores of 6-2, 6-4 and in doubles Julia Kovach and Isabel Fonseca won with sets of 7-5, 2-6, 7-5.

Tippecanoe 4, Preble Shawnee 1: Winning in singles for Preble Shawnee was Dakota Schroeder with set scores of 6-1, 6-7, 5-3. Amelia Zweizig and Mira Patel of Tippecanoe both won their singles match and leading for the team in doubles was Rainey Messinger and Camillah Jones.

Girls Volleyball

Greeneview 3, West Liberty-Salem 1: Alex Burton led WLS with 18 digs, 11 kills and 9 of 9 serving followed by Hallie Strapp making 13 digs, 18/18 serving and three aces.

Greenville 3, West Carrollton 1: Leading for Greenville was Shelby Herrmann with five aces and 37 digs. Teammate Brooke Stachler had four aces and 35 assists.
