HS Results 12/9: Tecumseh’s Thomas sets school record

Tecumseh’s Corinne Thomas set a school record for most points scored in a single game, shooting for 48 on the night.

The Tecumseh girls basketball team bested CBC rival Jonathan Alder, 82-46.

Presley Griffitts tacked on 19 points for Tecumseh, earning a double double with 10 assists.

Macy Berner tacked on three points and 14 rebounds to round out the Arrow’s offense.

McKenna Huff and Melissa Walbom each netted 10 points for Jonathan Alder in the loss.

Boys Basketball

Alter 55, Thurgood Marshall 49: Connor Meye tallied 14 in the win, while Dom Ruffolo tacked on 11, landing two 3-pointers. Anthony McCombs had three 3-point shots to lead TM with 13 points.

Anna 72, New Knoxville 40: Logan Cathcart shot for 20 points to lead Anna. Jonah Lageman fell behind by six, leading NK with 14.

Brookville 45, Dixie 41: Wes Turner scored 16 to lead Brookville, while Jacob Gudorf came in a close second, shooting for 15. Devin Worley, Dakota Grice and Keith Thomas each tallied 10 in the loss.

Carlisle 70, Middletown Christian 52: Justin Flor scored 23 points in the Carlisle victory. Dre Shores netted 19 for MC.

Coldwater 69, Kenton 52: Jacob Wenning scored 16 points and four assists in the road win.

Edgewood 47, Madison 37: Ethan McCarty netted nine in the win. Grant Whisman’s 11 points weren’t quite enough to push Madison over the edge.

Elder 65, Springboro 62: Zach Harp led Elder with 30 points. Kaleb Tabor had 19 for ‘Boro, shooting for four 3-pointers on the night.

Lakota West 46, Winton Woods 45: West outscored WW 20-6 in the fourth quarter to earn the win. West was led by Jared McCorkle with 12 points. Jaylen Mason and Greg Tribble each contributed 10 points in WW’s loss.

Lebanon 44, Turpin 29: Zach Huffman netted 15 points and four rebounds in the Lebanon win. Jackson Holt and Nick Hadded each had 11 for Turpin.

Lima Senior 75, Middletown 32: Jermaine Daniel tallied 18 points in the win. Aaron Jones had 14 points, four steals and two rebounds in the loss.

Miami East 36, Graham 30: Austin Kearns put up 15 points in the ME win. Matt Goddard scored 12 in the loss.

Monroe 51, Talawanda 33: Tristan Backas shot for 23 points for Monroe, tacking on four rebounds, two assists and two steals. Evan James shot for 18 in the loss.

New Bremen 60, St. Marys 56: Avery Powers led NB with 21 points, shooting two from the three point line. Austin Wilker went 4-for-7 from the free throw line to earn 21 points for St. Marys in the loss.

Preble Shawnee 52, National Trail 42: Levi Lewis tallied 16 to help PS to victory.

Reading 53, Ross 46: Bryce Hunt had a double double for Reading with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Landon Angel led overall scoring with 24 points and six rebounds.

Spg. Shawnee 44, Southeastern 40: Aaron Shack tallied half of Shawnee’s points in their four point win over SE. Charlie Bertemes shot for 13 in the loss.

Triad 57, Fairlawn 45: Hadley LeVan went 7-for-10 from the foul line to lead Triad with 13 points.

Tri County North 80, New Miami 52: Dillon McCullough landed in the double digits, socring 25 points to lead TCN. Deanza Duncan led NM in back-to-back nights, putting up 15.

Wapakoneta 54, Sidney 40: Andre Gordon had three 3-pointers, three assists and three steals to earn 27 points in the loss.

Arcanum 52, Milton-Union 45: Beyonce Bobbitt had a double double in the MU loss, shooting for 17 points and 13 rebounds. Camille Pohl and Alexis Unger scored 11 a piece in the loss.

Beavercreek 47, Wayne 33: Bailey Draughn went 6-for-7 from the foul line, earning 22 points for ‘Creek in the win. Aubryann Hall shot for 100% on free throws, scoring nine points overall in the loss.

Beechcroft 61, Meadowdale 28: Paige Franklin scored 14 in the win. Jalynne Smith led Meadowdale with nine.

Bellbrook 66, Franklin 36: Brooke Tincher netted 13 points, amassing nine off of 3-pointers. Layne Ferrell went 4-for-4 from the free throw line to lead Franklin with 13.

Carroll 39, Badin 35: Julia Keller netted 14 points in the win, while Allie Stefanek tacked on 11. Emma Broermann had 14 in the loss.

Chaminade Julienne 74, Purcell Marian 56: Annie Wecksecker scored 14 to lead CJ. Jordyn Varise earned 10 points, as she shot 100% from the foul line. Courtney Redd grabbed 12 rebounds.

Fairborn 47, Stebbins 44: Evelyn Oktavec scored 20 points in the win. Khala Powell tacked on nine points, six assists and four rebounds.

Fort Loramie 67, Fairlawn 18: Marissa Meiring tallied 22 points, nine steals and seven rebounds in the win. MaCalla Huelskamp had 12 in the loss.

Fort Recovery 45, Jay County 41: Grace Thien led FR with 16 points and five rebounds.

Greeneview 95, Catholic Central 36: Faith Strickle (31) and Frankie Fife (27) combined for 58 points in the Greeneview victory. Abbigail Peterson netted 12 points in the loss.

Kenton Ridge 61, Ben Logan 38: Mikala Morris netted 26 points to lead KR to victory. Ann Worrell scored 16 for Ben Logan.

Lakota West 63, Hamilton 31: Jaydis Gales and Abby Prohaska each had 18 points for West. Prohaska tacked on nine rebound for the near double double. CiCi Riggins amassed 20 points and eight rebounds in the loss.

Lebanon 69, Xenia 35: Kendall Folley shot for two 3-pointers as she led Lebanon with 25 points. Trinity Morton-Nooks put up 11 for Xenia, sinking three from the three point line.

Legacy Christian 73, Miami Valley 14: Emily Riddle shot for 15 points in the win. Annie Kensinger and Emma Hess each chipped in 13.

Little Miami 55, Talawanda 46: Karrah Wind paced LM with 16 points. Addie Brown led Talawanda and all scorers with 22 points, including two three-pointers and six free throws.

Mechanicsburg 36, West Jefferson 22: Kasey Schipfer went 6-for-8 on free throws, scoring 17 points to aid the Mechanicsburg win. Gabbie King earned all nine of her points off 3-point shops.

Middletown 71, Colerain 19: Samill Calhoun had 16 points and five rebounds in the Middies win. Jayla Fitzgerald led Colerain with four.

Newton 49, Bradford 26: Skipp Miller went 5-for-8 on free throws for Bradford. Tatum McBride led Newton with 24 points, six rebounds, six steals and five assists.

Oakwood 57, Eaton 37: Lauren Hapgood sunk three 3-pointers to lead Oakwood with 16 points, five steals and three assists. Bailey Shepherd scored 10 for Eaton.

Princeton 42, Fairfield 35: Zahara Bailey netted 13 points in the Fairfield loss. Jimeisha Smith outscored Bailey by one, leading Princeton with 14 in the win.

Springboro 70, Northmont 42: Jordan Diehl tallied 15 points in the ‘Boro win. Shalaya Heath went 4-for-4 from the free throw line, scoring 16 overall for Northmont in the loss.

Springfield 60, Miamisburg 56: Mickayla Purdue netted 20 points, eight assists and seven rebounds in the win. Emily Kepple earned 18 points for ‘Burg in the loss. Kirah Pringle tacked on 12.

St. Henry 79, Mississinawa Valley 30: Sidnie Hunt had the game high of 16 points for MV.

Sycamore 45, Lakota East 35: Aliah McWhorter and Brianna Counts each netted 13 points in the win. Jordan Stanley put up 10 points and went 5-for-7 from the foul line for East.

Tecumseh 82, Jonathan Alder 46: Corrine Thomas shot for 48 points to set a new school record for Tecumseh. Presley Griffitts tacked on a double double with 19 points and 10 assists. McKenna Huff and Melissa Walbom netted 10 for JA.

Tippecanoe 75, Piqua 24: Cali Stewart scored 18 points for Tipp, while Allison Mader tacked on 15 to ensure the W. Lily Stewart had 10 points in the Piqua loss.

Trotwood 84, West Carrollton 11: Shai McGruder had an outstanding night offensively, netting 32 on the night. Mercedes Woodward followed close behind with 29.

Urbana 49, Graham 31: Katelyn Nash and Lexi King co-led Graham with 13 points each. Alaina Lyons came out swinging with 17 points in the win.

Troy 38, Sidney 31: Tia Bass shot for 10 points and nine assists to lead Troy.

Versailles 61, Miami East 37: Kami McEldowney continued her streak of leading Versailles, earning 13 on the night. Morgan Haney shot for 18 to lead ME.

Waynesville 109, Northridge 22: Junior Rachel Murray tallied her 1000th point in Waynesville’s win, netting 21 points on the night. Leslie Lane and Dejha Lee each scored six for Northridge.

Wrestling

Edgewood Invitational: Miamisburg won the title with a total score of 157. Collin Lovett and Sebastian Beachler each claimed the titles for their weight classes. Jon Hardin took second at 285, while Cole McGuire took third at 126. National Trail’s Payton Lane defeated Madison’s Drew Price in the 138 championship match. Lane went 4-0 on the weekend, moving him to 10-0 overall.

Ironman Tournament: Graham finished 2nd overall at the Ironman Tournament, earning three 1st places finishes. JD Stickley took home the 138 title, while Ryan Thomas and Rocky Jordan took home 160 and 170. Rocky Jordan was also named the “Outstanding Wrestler of the Ironman Tournament.”

Boys Bowling

Coldwater 2524, Russia 2208: Caden Seitz bowled a 160 and a 192 to help Coldwater in their win. Dalton Ballinger tacked on a 190 and a 160.

Madison Plains 2052, West Liberty-Salem 1853, London 1830: Mike Price rolled a 169 to lead WLS. Isaac Riblet came in a close second with a 166.

Girls Bowling

Coldwater 2371, New Bremen 2171: Lauren Wenning rolled games of 180 and 187 to lead Coldwater in the win. Emily Forsthoefel was close behind with games of 173 and 146.

Fort Recovery 1910, Mississinawa Valley 1755: Payton Reichard had a 313 series to lead MV.

Swimming

Trotwood-Greenon Invitational: Ryan Braig finished 7th in the 100 IM and 8th in the 50 freestyle for Indian Lake.
