H.S. Results for 4/6: Centerville, Miami Valley top area tennis poll

Centerville and Miami Valley were voted for the top spots in their respective divisions in the Miami Valley Tennis Coaches Association rankings released Thursday.

Division I had Centerville, Beavercreek, Troy, Springboro and Fairmont in the top five.

Miami Valley led Division II, followed by Oakwood, Milton Union, Valley View and Alter.


Oakwood 6, St. Mary’s (NY) 0: Kaes Drumheller picked up the victory on the mound as Oakwood wrapped up its Florida trip with four wins and one loss.

Triad 5, Riverside 3: Briley Harland, Jacob Greve and Tom Tossey each had multiple hits for Triad in a game played at Wright State. Caleb Stevens doubled twice and scored two runs of the leadoff spot for Riverside.


Beavercreek 3, Fairmont 0: Parker Mikesch recorded 16 kills with 13 digs, Michael Abbitt had 10 kills with four blocks and Noah Buell added on 28 assists for ‘Creek.

Alter 3, Roger Bacon 0: Dan Nye notched 10 kills with five digs, Josh Kabel tallied 23 assists and Andrew Rose added nine kills with five aces as Alter swept Roger Bacon with scores of 25-10, 25-16 and 25-22.

Edgewood 3, Monroe 2: David Testas put up 19 kills with six aces and Jeremiah Beeler had 29 assists as Edgewood edged by Monroe, taking the final frame 16-14.
