Reds send Reed to Triple-A, call up Brice

The Cincinnati Reds sent struggling pitcher Cody Reed to Triple-A Louisville on Thursday and called up Austin Brice.

Reed, a 23-year-old left-hander, walked four batters in two innings of relief Wednesday night. His 15 walks in 14 innings are tied for the most on the team which Scot Feldman, who has thrown more than twice as many innings (31.2).

Brice is a 24-year-old right-hander the Reds acquired in the trade for Dan Straily. He appeared in 15 games with the Marlins last year, going 0-1 with 7.07 ERA.

He was 0-1 with a 3.60 ERA in six appearances at Louisville this season.
