Ohio State’s Joey Bosa: ‘I’m the best player in the draft’

Many NFL analysts have Joey Bosa projected as the top pick in the draft, and the Ohio State defensive end said he should be.

“I believe I’m the best player in the draft,” Bosa said this afternoon while addressing the media at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.

“There’s, of course, a lot of amazing players in the draft, and it’s going to be up to Tennessee to make that decision,” he added. “But I think as a player, if you don’t believe that, then there’s kind of something wrong.”

The Tennessee Titans have the first pick in the draft.

The last Buckeyes player to be drafted No. 1 overall was Orlando Pace in 1997. The last OSU defensive player to go first overall was tackle Dan Wilkinson to the Bengals in 1994.

Bosa said he should end the drought.

“I think I bring (to the draft) the best pass rusher, the best defensive lineman in the country,” he said. “I’m obviously coming to the team that drafts me to help them win and help them eventually make it to the Super Bowl.”
