The Cincinnati Bengals will play a nationally televised game at Jacksonville as part of their 2016 preseason schedule, the NFL announced today.
The Bengals will face the Jaguars in Week 3 of the preseason on Sunday night, Aug. 28, on NBC.
For the second year in a row the Bengals open the preseason slate at home, and they will do so against an old friend as former defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer brings his Minnesota Vikings to Paul Brown Stadium for a contest the weekend of Aug. 11-15.
The reunion tour continues the following week with a trip to Detroit to face former Bengals Marvin Jones and Wallace Gilberry, both of whom signed free-agent contracts with the Lions this spring. That game will be played the weekend of Aug. 18-22.
The preseason concludes in standard fashion with a game against Indianapolis at PBS on either Sept. 1 or 2. The Bengals and Colts have played the preseason finale every year since 2001 and in 23 of the last 24 seasons.
Exact dates and times for the Weeks 1, 2 and 4 games will be announced at a later date.
