Bengals' Burfict earns weekly honor

A Bengals linebacker was named today as the AFC Defensive Player of the Week.

Vontaze Burfict recorded 18 tackles (15 solo) in the Bengals’ 41-20 win over Cleveland. Burfict also forced a fumble, which he recovered and returned 13 yards for a touchdown.

Through 11 games, Burfict leads the team with 146 total tackles.

Burfict is the third Bengal to earn Player of the Week honors, joining quarterback Andy Dalton (Week 6 at Buffalo) and wide receiver Marvin Jones (Week 8 vs. Jets). Dalton also won the AFC Offensive Player of the Month for October.
