The 114th game in series history will be Ohio State’s 700th game in Big Ten

Series history: Michigan leads 58-48 with six ties. This is the 114th meeting and the 100th straight year the teams have played. Ohio State has won five straight games in the series and 12 of the last 14. Since 1951, Ohio State leads 36-27-2. The Buckeyes won 30-27 last season in the first overtime game in series history.

Last game: On Nov. 18, Ohio State beat Illinois 52-14, and Michigan lost 24-10 at Wisconsin.

Coaches: Ohio State’s Urban Meyer is 70-8 in his sixth season. Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh is 28-9 in his third season.

Ohio State notes: The Buckeyes rank fourth in the nation in total offense (546.2 yards per game) and eighth in total defense (291.5). … Running back J.K. Dobbins is 149 rushing yards away from breaking Maurice Clarett’s freshman school record of 1,237 yards. … This is Ohio State’s 700th game in the Big Ten. It has the same number of victories as Michigan (503). … K.J. Hill leads the Buckeyes with 49 receptions (466 yards). Parris Campbell leads the team with 518 receiving yards (35 catches). Johnnie Dixon leads the receivers with eight touchdowns (17-413).

PLAYOFF RANKING: Ohio State still No. 9

Michigan notes: Junior safety Tyree Kinnel, a Wayne grad, and fifth-year senior linebacker Mike McCray, a Trotwood-Madison grad, start for the Wolverines. Kinnel ranks fifth on the team with 63 tackles. He has two interceptions. McCray ranks fourth on the team with 64 tackles and has five sacks. This is Senior Day for McCray. … Karan Higdon (79.5 yards per game), Ty Isaac (60.9) and Chris Evans (54.0) lead the ground game. … Sean McKeon (27 receptions for 279 yards) and Grant Perry (24-298) lead the team in receptions.
