Prep Football Roundup: Southeastern beats Central for second straight win

Southeastern High School junior running back Tanner Stoops had two rushing TDs and senior quarterback Tucker Eriksen added another as the Trojans won their second straight game, beating host Catholic Central 50-0 in an Ohio Heritage Conference South Division game on Friday night at Hallinean Field.

The Trojans led 30-0 at the half. Southeastern senior Austin Sanders caught a 15-yard TD pass from Eriksen and also scored on a 65-yard kickoff return.

Southeastern sophomore Mason Coil returned a punt 58 yards for a touchdown.

Southeastern is 2-5 and 2-0 in the OHC South. The Trojans travel to Madison Plains (4-3, 1-1) next week.

Catholic Central is 0-7 and 0-2 in the division. The Irish travels to Greeneview (3-4, 1-1) in Week 8.

Shawnee 63, Tecumseh 21: Matt Guyer and Jaden Hall each rushed for two touchdowns and Robie Glass and Tyler Mercer also ran for scores as the Braves improved to 6-1 and 2-0 in the Central Buckeye Conference Kenton Trail Division.

Glass also threw two TD passes, one to Drew Mitch and another to Luke Myers, as the Braves wracked up 421 yards of total offense.

Guyer rushed for 137 yards on 14 carries, scoring on runs of 1 and 25 yards. Hall rushed for 130 yards on nine carries, including TD runs of 23 and 53 yards.

Shawnee’s Max Guyer scored on a fumble recovery for the second straight week.

Tecumseh’s Braden Berner returned a kickoff 91 yards for a TD. The Arrows’ Jaden Macik scored on a 13-yard run and Connor McCorkle caught a 10-yard TD pass from Caden Riley.

Shawnee hosts unbeaten London (7-0, 2-0) in Week 18.

The Arrows fell to 1-6 and 0-2 in the division. Tecumseh hosts Jonathan Alder (7-0, 2-0) next week.

Northwestern 20, Indian Lake 14: Junior Ben VanNoord rushed for 200 yards and three TDs on 30 carries as the Warriors overcame an early 7-0 deficit to improve to 4-3 and 2-0 in the CBC Mad River Division.

VanNoord scored on runs of 40, 9 and 34 yards as the Warriors won their second straight game.

The Lakers’ Clay Jacobs rushed for 115 yards and two TDs on 15 carries, including a 17-yard TD run as time expired.

Northwestern hosts North Union (4-3, 2-0) in a battle of unbeaten CBC Mad River Division teams next week.

London 42, Kenton Ridge 7: Cougars quarterback Dylan Lemen scored the lone TD for the Cougars, which fell to 4-3 and 0-2 in the CBC Kenton Trail. KR travels to Bellefontaine (4-3, 0-2) next week.

West Jefferson 48, Northeastern 7: Dylan Sebastion scored the Jets lone touchdown on a fumble recovery in the fourth quarter.

Northeastern dropped its second straight game, falling to 2-5 and 0-2 in the OHC North Division. The Jets travel to Mechanicsburg (6-1, 1-1) next week.

Mechanicsburg 44, Triad 7: Chayse Propst rushed for 105 yards and two TDs and Logan Hurst and Aaron Conley each had rushing TDs for the Indians.

Hurst went 9-for-12 for 138 yards and two TDs, both to Mack DeLong.

The Cardinals’ lone score came on an interception return by Jacob Jenkins in the fourth quarter.

Triad (2-4, 0-2 OHC North) hosts Fairbanks next week.

Greeneview 26, Cedarville 8: Dakota Mangan rushed 239 yards and a TD on 26 carries as the Rams scored 23 answered points to seal an OHC South Division victory.

Hunter Baldwin completed 17-of-25 passes for 200 yards and a TD and Mason Bowen caught eight passes for 94 yards and a TD as the Indians led 8-3 at the half.

A six-yard TD pass to Kristopher Phillips from Logan Sandlin, an 11-yard TD run by Sandlin and a safety gave the Rams a 19-10 lead after the third quarter.

Mangan’s TD run in the fourth quarter sealed the win for the Rams.

Cedarville is 0-7 and 0-2 in the OHC South.

Fairbanks 26, West Liberty-Salem 20: Trevor Woodruff went 14-for-36 for 252 yards and two TDs as the visiting Tigers dropped their first game of the season.

Isaiah McGill rushed for 95 yards on 19 carries, including a 51-yard TD run to bring the Tigers to within six points with 9:49 remaining.

The Tigers host unbeaten West Jefferson (7-0, 2-0) next week.

North Union 56, Graham 10: The Wildcats led 49-3 at the half. The Falcons' Brady King scored their lone touchdown on an 11-yard run for Graham (3-4, 1-1).

Benjamin Logan 42, Urbana 20: Logan Johnson had 175 yards and two TDs on 17 carries for the Hillclimbers (0-7, 0-2). They host rival Graham next week.
