Yurcich, a native of Euclid, Ohio, was third in command at Ohio State behind head coach Ryan Day and offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson.

Day said he brought in Yurcich to add some “Big 12 influence” to his offense, and quarterback Justin Fields ended up being named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year and Quarterback of the Year in his first season as a starter.
Previously Ohio State lost co-defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley, who was credited with engineering a drastic improvement in the Buckeye stop unit in his one season in Columbus. He was named head coach at Boston College earlier this month.
