Ohio State University and the University of Dayton have each issued notices to fans in recent days to warn about ticket fraud.
Ohio State urged fans to cover up the bar codes on football tickets if they post photos of the tickets to social media. Dayton, which plays an exhibition game Nov. 4 at UD Arena, reminded fans to do the same if they post photos of their basketball tickets.
In regards to the game against No. 2 Penn State on Saturday at Ohio Stadium, Ohio State reminded fans to purchase tickets from authorized sources. Ohio State’s other message to fans in a press release Wednesday was about tickets in PDF format being printed on paper.
“PDF tickets will not be scanned from a mobile device,” a press release stated. “Requests to have PDF tickets printed by the ticket office will incur a per-ticket reprint fee. For fans wishing to utilize mobile entry, only Ticketmaster mobile-compatible tickets — those generated by Ticketmaster and shown as a QR code — will be accepted for entry into the venue on a mobile device.”
