Ohio State Buckeyes facing first two-a-day practice Friday

A reporter asked Ohio State Buckeyes quarterback J.T. Barrett on Thursday about the first two-a-day practice coming Friday.

“I didn’t even know we had a two-a-day tomorrow,” Barrett said with a laugh. “Thank you for that.”

The practices come at the Buckeyes fast and furious this month. Looking ahead a day is not advised, even for a veteran like the redshirt junior Barrett. His advice for the 25 true freshmen is:

“Our camp is not easy,” Barrett said. “With that being said, you’ve got to keep fighting to get better. The hard times we have in camp right now, those are going to help us in the season. You can see it on people’s faces. Man we just got through a hard practice. I couldn’t imagine just going at 3 o’clock about to do it again, but that’s real. That’s going to happen in the next couple days. I think just grind it out knowing brighter days are ahead, and this is going to help us later.”

Ohio State also has two-a-day practices on Aug. 15, 17 and 19.
