Nick Bosa drops in on Ohio State Rose Bowl practice

A familiar face joined the Ohio State football team Friday afternoon.

Nick Bosa dropped in on practice at the StubHub Center as the Buckeyes continued preparation for the 105th Rose Bowl.

An All-American defensive end who missed most of the season with a core muscle injury, Bosa has been working out in California to prepare for the NFL draft.

He was expected to meet up with his former teammates at some point, and did so at the same facility where his older brother, Joey, plays his NFL games with the Los Angeles Chargers.

Bosa strolled in just before the Buckeyes began stretching, and he was embraced by numerous teammates as well as defensive line coach Larry Johnson.

Bosa had 14 tackles, including six for loss and four sacks, in three games before he was injured in a week three win over TCU.

He still received All-Big Ten honorable mention despite playing only three games and is considered a candidate to be the No. 1 pick in the draft in April.

As was the case the day before, Ohio State practiced without starting left tackle Thayer Munford. He was present but not in pads.

His playing status for the game against Washington on Tuesday is unknown.

Ohio State offensive coordinator Ryan Day and select offensive players (not including Munford) are scheduled to speak to reporters Saturday morning.

Sunday will be media day at the Rose Bowl for both teams.

All members of the two-deep are expected to be available on media day, so some information on Munford’s status could come then.
