Last game: Ohio State won 31-20 in Ann Arbor last year. The Buckeyes rallied from an early 14-0 deficit to win their sixth straight in the series.

Coaches: Ohio State’s Urban Meyer is 80-9 in six seasons as the coach of the Buckeyes and 184-32 overall in 17 seasons. Jim Harbaugh is 38-12 at Michigan in four seasons and 96-39 overall in 11 seasons.

Ohio State notes: Ohio State is No. 2 nationally in total offense (541.8 yards per game) and No. 69 in total defense (398.6)… The Buckeyes are eighth (41.6 points per game) and 52nd (24.6) in scoring… The Buckeyes and Wolverines are 12th and 11th, respectively, in the Big Ten in penalties.. The teams are tied for second in the Big Ten and 20th nationally with 31 sacks apiece… Ohio State is 27-27-2 when hosting the Wolverines. Michigan beat Ohio State in the Ohio Stadium dedication game in 1922 and held a series lead in games played in the Horseshoe for many years. Ohio State now enjoys a 26-21-1 advantage in the big stadium on the banks of the Olentangy River, where Michigan’s last win was a 38-26 decision in 2000.

Michigan notes: The Wolverines have won 10 in a row after dropping their season-opening game at Notre Dame 24-17… They are No. 1 in the nation in total defense (234.8 yards per game) and 47th in total offense (429.6)… Michigan is No. 4 nationally in points allowed (13.5) and No. 24 in points scored per game (36.6)… Harbaugh’s team leads the Big Ten with a turnover margin of plus-8 while Ohio State is fifth at plus-4… Senior safety Tyree Kinnel is a Michigan captain from Wayne High School. He has 150 tackles in 45 games for the Maize and Blue, including 8.5 tackles for loss, a sack, two interceptions, 10 pass breakups and one forced fumble. He is second on the team in tackles this season with 62.

Quoted: Harbaugh to Detroit radio station 97.1 The Ticket on The Game: “The competitive stakes are higher even,” Harbaugh said on the show. “There’s nothing that will make you feel more like a man than beating another team in their hostile stadium, and if you can throw the elements in there, too, there’s a third thing you can defeat as well.

“In the end, it’s 11 players that are on the field on each side and some officials. That’s the only ones that are allowed to be out there on the field. Coaches, we’re all in. Nobody’s hitting the snooze button around here to put ourselves and our players in the best position possible for this ball game.”

Next game: The winner will play Northwestern in the Big Ten championship game next Saturday night.

Prediction: Michigan 30, Ohio State 20
