Long-distance touchdowns becoming the norm for undefeated Springfield

Quick strike doesn’t do the Springfield High School offense justice. Make that shock and awe.

The undefeated Wildcats (6-0) have removed the early season kinks in the offense in a spectacular way. Eleven of Springfield’s touchdowns have covered 35 yards or more, all but three since Week 4.

The longest was Jeff Toliver’s 80-yard dash in a 49-6 Week 4 blowout of Centerville. Trailing not-so-far behind is Michael Brown-Stephens’ 77-yard pass from RaHeim Moss in a 35-7 Week 6 defeat of Xenia.

No wonder opposing players cross fingers when kicking off to the Wildcats. Punting out of bounds is option A, B and C.
