WL-Salem, Northeastern earn cross country conference wins

West Liberty-Salem captured its fifth straight Ohio Heritage Conference boys title as sophomore Joey Adams won the individual crown with a time of 17:12. Cedarville’s Zac Bowen finished second, followed by Tigers’ teammates Chris Buschur and Ross Kelley. Northeastern’s Andrew Mowell rounded out the Top 5. In the girls race, Northeastern took home the team championship as senior Madison King was the only runner who finished under the 20-minute mark (19:50). Rachel House of Mechanicsburg finished second, and Alyssa Strickland followed in third place. Catholic Central runners’ Emily Belovich and Ragen Engel completed the Top 5.

METRO BUCKEYE CONFERENCE

Xenia Christian swept the boys and girls titles at John Bryan State Park in Yellow Springs. In the girls race, four Ambassadors received First Team All Conference recognition, including overall champion Ariana Nelson. Yellow Springs’ top runner was Charlotte Walkey, who finished in fifth place. Dayton Christian’s Micah Bragg ran away with the boys title finishing at 16:49. Emmanuel Christian’s Justin Webster finished seventh to earn First Team All Conference honors.

CENTRAL BUCKEYE CONFERENCE

Tippecanoe completed a dominant Saturday afternoon with team titles from both the boys and girls squads. The Tipp girls were led by overall champion Allison Sinning’s 18:38 tally. Greenon’s Lianne Masquelier was the runner-up, and Morgan Huggins from Springfield Shawnee finished out the Top 5. Tecumseh’s Andy Gemmaka won the boys race, finishing at 16:31. Northwestern’s Justin Prack placed third.
