The game will go down as a suspended game, Springfield coach Rob Cassell said, and it won’t count toward either team’s record. Still, it was a good first test for Springfield.
“We saw their ace, and he’s pretty good,” Cassell said. “I was real impressed with the way we hit the ball the first time out as cold as it was, against a pretty good team. We only had one error.”
The game was arranged Monday afternoon when Springfield’s originally scheduled game with Northeastern was cancelled. Kent Roosevelt was scheduled to play Tecumseh at Wright State, but that game was postponed until 1 p.m. today at the Evans Stadium baseball field.
